I just had to take the time to share the amazing experience my family has had with a relative living at Bedford Hills The staff constantly go out of their way to accommodate anything needed. The care is beyond anything we could have hoped for and even the food is a nice quality.Above all the atmosphere is friendly and professional. All of his gives our family and friends the assurance we need to not feel stressed when we are unable to be present on a daily basis! We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Bedford Hills !!!!
Comfortable place. Food not so great. There are menu choices, but half the time you don’t get what you ordered. Diet was changed without my knowledge of permission. Bedding was not changed regularly. I was there five weeks and bedding was only changed once. Physical and occupational therapy staff were excellent. They help establish goals and then work with you to achieve them. Overall, not a bad stay, but there are areas which could definitely improve.
My siblings and I are very happy with the care my mom has received and is still receiving at Bedford Hills skilled nursing home. They have treated our mom wonder and have been very good with communication with us. As hard a decision as this is for a family to make, and we had no idea how our mom would be, Bedford Hills is definitely a great place!
Always parking and always a bright and friendly welcome when you walk in! The team take great care of the patients and their families - they treat them like their own family! The building is exceptionally clean and well cared for with great spaces for quiet and natural light. I would highly recommend!
Very Good experience. I will start from the day I brought my dad in. One of the ladies from the billing department helped me. (Not her job) She didn't just tell me where to go, she brought me to the people I needed to talk to. A+Stephanie (Social Worker) Very passionate and truly cared. She was extremely helpful every step of the way. Any concerns we had, i could just reach out and she was always there to listen. Jennifer was the head nurse on the rehab wing my dad was in. Very passionate and would always listen and answer questions. Nicole, one of the nurses that helped on a daily basis. You would have thought it was one of her family members laying in the bed. Her heart is 10X a normal person. Even with a very busy schedule of others to take care of, she always had a min to check in. The woman who cleaned the rooms. She would talk to my dad while cleaning. His biggest complaint being at the facility was being board. Her conversations help more than she will ever know. The helpers (LNA etc.) so many to list, but always there when needed. Kristen is the one I will list by name. By far she was my dad's favorite. Her passion and caring spirit made all the difference. Food was good. Room was nice. Facility was nice. Was it brand new, no but there were no complaints. Our overall experience was a very good one based on the staff. My dad passed away at the facility 9/9/19
I would give them less than one, could I. My mother went in on 5/31/19 to rehab. I delivered her with a USERS MANUAL, as I had been caring for her, SUCCESSFULLY, for 3 1/2 months prior. Due ONLY to my own physical limitations, I brought her here. She WALKED IN, and was still able to feed herself, and communicate. The first day, we warned the staff (repeatedly) that my mother was a huge fall risk (which was also communicated by the hospital from whence she came). We requested a bed alarm for safety - and had to sign a release. That very night - she fell (for the first, but not the last, time). Despite being told that, given her condition, immobility was the worst thing for her - they left her, not moving, for days.It took them over a WEEK to even get the timing of her medication correct, which, given her condition (atypical Parkinson's - even though the facility did not know the TRUE diagnosis - because they never read the complete file) - further disabled her.She also had a torn rotator cuff, which they had knowledge of - but somehow never communicated to ALL staff. This resulted in her being put in unnecessary, excruciating pain, every time a different LNA transferred her. She was a 2 assist - but they routinely only used one, which resulted in further harm. Every day, I was there. And every day, at least one person, if not more, tried to move her by pulling on that arm. They claimed to have experience dealing with Parkinson's patients - but they DO NOT. They made claims about their capabilities that they do not actually possess. Their PT staff is entirely made up of non-qualified CHILDREN. Even they, who were supposed to know about her physical limitations, attempted to have a 75 year old woman, with a torn rotator cuff, PULL HERSELF UP FROM A WHEELCHAIR, USING PARALLEL BARS. Thankfully, I was there (with witnesses) to tell the PT about the tear. Who, upon reading her file, could (according to him - JEFF) not find it. She'd been there over a week at that point.I could go on and on - but I'll leave you with this :She WALKED into that facility on 05/31...And DIED on 06/22.It is my sincerest hope that all those whose ineptitude contributed to my mother's excruciating pain, and death, may experience the hell in which this place delivered her.To those at this facility (you know who you are) that actually CARED, and were kind, and gentle with her : THANK YOU. You did the best you could with what you had to work with, and myself, and my family, will always be grateful for that.
