My parents have lived at Bartlett three years this May. Everyone has been so friendly and thoughtful. Although my Daddy is 96 1/2 years old and unable to participate in many activities, he is content and thankful to live here because of caring staff. My sweet Moma feels safe and happy to be independent. Bartlett is cozy! We all are thankful we’ve been able to honor their request to “age in place’. A perfect fit for them!

I’ve been in the Durham area for 12 years and have seen a lot of retirement communities come and go. But one that started up relatively recently and has developed a reputation for care for its residents, as well as providing them in the upscale, livable arrangement, is Bartlett Reserve. Recently renovated and refreshed for 2020, Bartlett Reserve would be among the first places I look for when I would have a family member in need of a comprehensive independent living arrangement. In my line of work, I have several clients who want to simplify and reduce the hassles that come with day to day living, including property maintenance, Social activities, and all the other things that you take for granted in your youth. I’m continually impressed by Bartlett Reserve’s management knowledge of this vital need and regularly reinventing its value proposition to make itself a premier independent living community in Durham. Well worth considering when the time is right for you.

The staff and other friends that I see every day remind me of my family as I grew up. I enjoy the food, although we are in a lockdown status because of the virus, the food schedule is just as good as it was always. All in all my expectations of a Senior Living experience have been fully met at The Bartlett.

I cannot express how much I love this place. My mom loves living there, the staff is warm and helpful, and they treat her like family. She has found a wonderful community in the residents here, and the administration has been very helpful in getting her what accommodations she needs. The food is also really fantastic (it's noteworthy), and I always feel very welcomed when I come to visit. Really, highly recommend it here. My only complaint is that they keep not believing me when I swear I'm really 55 and they should let me move in, too...

My mother in law had the good fortune to be a resident at Bartlett Reserve over the past year. I must say that Sean and the staff were excellent during her stay. Sean could not have been more kind, professional and accomodating during her stay. I can highly reccomend Sean and Bartlett Reserve to anyone seeking a quality retirement living!

As a professional healthcare worker, during the several months of Covid-19 its been extremely hard for everyone especially on the elderly. At Bartlett the staff are during everything that is healthcare required to maintain the safety of the residents, staff and visitors. The staff is very humble and polite upon entering an throughout the area of the building. Great place to live for your love one.

We are vendors to Bartlett Reserve. The compassion, level of care, and FUN their residents have is amazing to see. I've had the pleasure of presenting to their residents twice and they are a lively, outgoing bunch. I know some of the other vendors that take care of residents at Bartlett Reserve and they are very dedicated to the residents and truly care for them so well. I love Bartlett Reserve!

This community was a pleasant surprise. I went in for a tour and did not have any real expectations, the building itself is fairly nondescript. The inside was the real surprise, it was light, airy, and welcoming. it did not look at all like a senior living community. It was more like a condo or apartment, but with shared spaces. I am a big fan of the cozy reading nooks scattered around and loved the great theatre room. I saw 2 different apartments and both we nice, not huge but a nice manageable size for my mom. The hallways reminded me of a nicer hotel. It seems like it may have been recently redone- everything seemed fresh.The huge courtyard brought really brought the outdoors inside.

Bartlett Reserve has been a wonderful place for my mom, who was there for five years. Friendly and caring staff, consistently excellent food, a full and diverse array of activities, and a happy place to be. Although Bartlett is an independent living facility, it provided a strong support system through the pandemic while keeping residents safe. A truly exceptional place!

As a healthcare professional in Senior Care, I am often asked my opinion about placement options for loved ones. Bartlett is at the top of my list for referrals. The staff are personable and caring. Administration has the best interest of the residents at the top of their priority list. They have an outdoor pool for recreation and classes. I find that their biggest selling point is the opportunity for residents to eat when they want to eat. They do not have to wait for the dining room to be open at certain times. I would not hesitate to place a loved one at Bartlett and that is the biggest compliment I could ever hand out.

For almost a year, my mother-in-law has been a resident at Bartlett. I am consistently impressed with the management and staff and their desire to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment in this independent living community. Much attention is spent on the food, activities, physical environment, and all the elements that are most important to the residents and their satisfaction. For example, outside activities are plentiful and every holiday is celebrated with special meals, decorations and entertainment.I have found that management's door is always open in a sincere effort to make this a top senior community and resident views/preferences are sought out and accommodated when possible. I recognize that there are many people behind the scenes making Bartlett the success that it is, but I have to single out Dottie and Butch for going way beyond to make the residents feel at home and truly cared for, like family.
