Overview of Our Professional Staff and Training
Our administrative staff includes RN's, LPN's, a Licensed Administrator, a Licensed Medical Social Worker, a Licensed Medical Doctor, and a Nurse Practitioner. Our floor staff comprises RN's, LPN's, and CNA's. All licensed staff members have obtained their degrees and passed their professional licensing exams. New staff members undergo a 2-day company orientation and receive on-the-floor training under a preceptor for a designated period.
Safety and Well-Being Measures for Residents
Ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents is a top priority. We provide timely medical evaluations by our NP or MD, and our nurses and floor staff are trained to notice subtle changes in residents. We manage all medications in compliance with state and federal regulations and have a wander guard system to alert staff if a resident exits the building.
Support Services for Residents' Transition
Upon discharge, we offer Home Health or Hospice services to ensure a smooth transition back home. Our Licensed Medical Social Worker ensures residents have the necessary equipment and offers family training on medical devices as needed.
Transportation Services
We provide transportation services for residents needing to attend appointments.
Dining Experience
Residents can dine in our main dining room or in the "Solarium" of each unit for smaller group meals. The main dining area also hosts various activities.
Resident Complaint Resolution Process
Complaints should be reported to the nurse, then the unit manager, and if unresolved, to the LMSW for escalation. Serious issues should be directly reported to the LMSW.
Communication Policy with Residents' Families
While we do not regularly call families for updates, they are welcome to visit or call anytime for information on their loved ones.
Short-term and Respite Stays
We offer short-term respite stays at a rate of $270/day for a semi-private room and $295/day for a private room.
Pet-Friendly Community
Pets with updated vaccinations are allowed to visit residents.
Vaccination Services
We offer COVID, Flu, and pneumonia vaccinations to our residents.
Aging in Place
As a skilled nursing facility, we allow residents to age in place, though there is currently a waitlist for long-term care residents.
Aiken Rehabilitation and Care Center, previously known as Pepper Hill
Aiken Rehabilitation and Care Center, previously known as Pepper Hill, has been a staple in the community since the 1970's. It was built and owned by a local family, who unfortunately a few years ago had to sell it to a previous owner due to declining health reasons. The previous owners changed the name to The Place at Pepper Hill. These owners were involved for a short while, when they decided to sell to our current owners Venza Care.
Venza Care has now owned Pepper Hill for roughly 3 years. As soon as they bought the facility, they quickly realized that the building was in need of a renovation. They completely renovated our rehabilitation unit, to include our therapy gym and equipment. They are planning on renovating the long-term care units as well, it just must be done in phases, as you can imagine it is hard to renovate a home when someone is living in it. 🙂 Shortly after renovations were completed, they changed our name to Aiken Rehabilitation and Care Center!
Services Offered
We offer short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. For long-term care, our residents can either pay using a Medicaid benefit or privately.
