If you care about your loved ones, take them elsewhere. The care was less than ideal; my uncle fell and shattered his hip when he was supposed to have someone helping him walk or be in a wheelchair. After he passed, the billing lady who contacted my mother was atrocious. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. This whole facility needs to be investigated.....
This is a horrible place to go for rehab. I have documented accute anxiety and PTSDThey placed me in a room with a woman with dimentia who yelled all night and called me names I know she couldn't. Help it was very stressful I got 9 hours sleep all week. This is a nursing home and people who need therapy should not be placed here
I was at this so called care center for 18 hours on July 2nd 2020 before I called millcreek police dispatch to send the EMT's to take me out of there I did not receive my pain medication as ordered by my doctor they kept telling me I had to wait 3 more hours every time I asked after waiting 3 hours I had to wait 3 more hours. The one meal I received was maybe 500 calories not counting all the sugar they brought knowing I was diabetic when the EMT's arrived my blood sugar was so high from neglect it didn't read on their meter and I had been lying in pee for 2 hours. Do not choose this place if you want to rehab with care and dignity.
There's no place like home! Willow Wood Care Center is a short-term and long-term care center, with a specialized secure memory care section. It is the closest place to 'Ma and 'Pa's you will find in care centers. What makes Willow Wood great is the perfect combination of home and family. Nestled in a developed area, at the entrance of a gated community, Willow Wood is one of the only care centers in the valley tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood. Please come visit us so we can show you why this place is "home".
The Willow Wood staff was so great in caring for my step-father. The staff is truly top notch...it is so impressive that their staff on the Memory Care unit have been there as long as they have - this says a lot! The back-yard was a really nice area to be able to go and visit. The inside aesthetics could be a bit better though.
Very good facility, it looks little old but aids and CNA are very helpful, every facilities have their pros and cons, this place has some residents in dementia unit which are very hard to take care of but amazingly they try their best to take care of them, i have worked as PT in many SNF but liked this as they take very good care of residents, Sometimes they have problems with staffing but to be honest evry facility has the same problems so far! All that matters is personal attention that residents get!
Does nobody in your dementia area give a crap about people who can not do for themselves? 98 year old women comes in, 2 weeks no shower, Beds sores on the feet, meaning they have not changed her socks to notice. . only changed her once a day, Dirty bathroom, pee all over the floor. excuse is other residents must have used it. Has not been cleaned for 2 weeks. change her, wipe the front, ignore the dried poop on her bottom. And we have to say "HEY clean her bottom. What is the problem here. If you do not like this kind of work go somewhere else. But DO NOT stay and neglect your residents. Pay attention. Been reported to OmbudsmanAn update, This special lady who is 98 now is having so much pain with a 4th degree bedsore on her tail bone, They decided to come in and scrape it out, while she was crying so loud. They wont even numb it. Yes she is on hospice, But why should anyone have to live their last days in such pain from neglect. This place should be ashamed of themselves. We put our trust into a place to care for someone and they are treated like this.
We are so grateful for the wonderful care and love that they staff of Willow wood gave to our father. We wished that we would have found them sooner. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, I highly recommend your meeting Nia and the other care givers at Willow wood.
