Community Insights
This detailed information was obtained directly from Villa Gardens via email correspondence on Oct. 25, 2023.
Overview of Staff and Training
We are licensed by the California Dept. of Social Services with an RCFE license. The regulations require ongoing training of our staff for all resident issues and safety concerns, emergency preparedness, and medical needs. Our management team and live staff include many who have worked at Villa Gardens for over fifteen years. Front Porch, our parent company, provides the guidelines and standards for every community, including Villa Gardens.
Safety and Well-being Measures
We have a 24-hour check system for independent residents. If a resident does not leave their apartment by a certain time of day, we check on them. Each resident has an emergency pendant to use at any time. Residents can receive care from our staff in their independent apartment, and we can check on residents every two hours or less if requested as part of their care plan.
Transition Support Services
We have a system for each manager to meet new residents. Our Director of Resident Services offers extra support for the transition if needed, and we have a resident mentor program managed by the residents themselves.
Transportation Services
Yes, we offer scheduled local transportation Monday – Friday. We can also assist residents with getting a ride with Lyft for trips outside of our normal transportation hours.
Dining Experience
Our dining room offers restaurant-style service with a four-page menu and daily specials. We also have a bistro open from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM daily, offering sandwiches, smoothies, and coffee for a more casual dining experience.
Resident Complaints and Issues
Executive Director, Shaun Rushforth, has an open door policy. We also have the Director of Resident Services and the Director of Health Services for wellness-related complaints. We are all here to support the residents and will direct them to the correct team member who can assist them.
Cost of Living
Fees are listed on pages 8, 9, and 10 of the booklet previously sent to you.
Communication with Resident's Families
Residents and their loved ones inform us of their preferred form of communication and frequency, and we create a system that works for everyone. We are flexible based on the needs of the resident and their family members/loved ones.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We do not offer respite stays.
Pet-Friendly Community and Waitlist
Yes, we are a pet-friendly community. Currently, our waitlist for one-bedroom apartments is about 6 months to a year, and for two-bedroom apartments, it is about a 2-year wait.
