2016-2017 I was a nurse there at Umpqua. It was a fun place to work, the patients and staff were awesome. We had great communication with each other and my patients were happy. In 2017 Avalon bought the place and because I was so highly paid my position was terminated. Once I was terminated, I was then requested to fill out another application immediately. WHAT? They didn't want to pay me 32.50 an hour but rehire me at 21.50 an hour. Nope, no thanks. That told me then what was going to happen.
Only send clothes that you don't mind loosing. They lost ALL of pants, all but 2 shirts and most under clothes. Send in paper bags, cause you won't get suitcases back. Also, because of clothes loss, she had to wear someone elses clothes. We found that she wore the same clothes 2 days in the row. And these clothes, she would have never wore in public. Very dissatisfied with the care there. We was never allowed in side the building due to covid. Even after it was lifted. So I'm sure I would not liked what I seen
If I could give zero stars, I would! My mother was transferred here after a major surgery for rehabilitation and care. She was in there for barely a week and it was a living nightmare! She was seen by a doctor only one time. When the bandage was changed we asked if it was infected and the response was "It looks red", and no doctor was notified! Her incision got a major infection requiring hospitalization! Her kidney function went down almost to dialysis level as well as her being dehydrated! Her sugars were almost always over 300! No pain management as she had a headache the whole time she was there. They never rinsed her feeding tube and it was leaking onto her clothes! The place was dirty, cold and they didn't take good care of her at all! When asking for help to bathroom the answer was either I'll tell the nurse, we're busy right now, will be there in a minute. When she was first admitted, she was sharing a bathroom with a male patient until I complained and then they moved her to a private room. She had personal belongings that went missing! If you love your family member, don't let them stay here!
From what I hear as a very good friend is here at this time...it's in great need of Remodeling. Dreary environment. Will be there tomorrow 8/19 and will look it over with a fine tooth comb. My question for "Avalon" Exect's and Board Members...would you be in here if you had to??? Would you put your parents in here as well??? Will add on to this review after tomorrow.
My grandma was on her last breath and I called and asked if they could bring a phone and put it on speaker so I could pray for her. The first call I made they transferred me to a number that rang and rang. When I called back another guy answered and told me that my grandma was hard of hearing and that they were too busy. Hard to believe someone could be so rude at such a sensetive time.
