Treacy Villa Description
For over three decades, we have been providing much-needed relief and sustaining hope for hundreds of families. When Mr. Treacy, a passionate immigrant from Ireland, began his journey of providing care for the elderly, it marked the start of something special. At the ripe age of 22, he realized that his potential to be a source of motivation and aid was immense. Leading him to fulfill his purpose, he established a care facility in Santa Barbara and then cultivated it into the expansive center now situated in Ventura. Now a seasoned veteran himself, he still partakes in daily meals and conversation with the residents.Memory Care

It is dark and sad.. The staff was caring though. At first I was thankful but now that I have had a lot of time thinking about what happened there. I wish I would have never let my pop go near that place. He should have been medicated properly and they knew that and that was one of the reasons he even stepped foot in there. To regulate his meds. I did not realize it was actually just the place he went to die. Good thing I got him out of there and back home week before he passed. I was so blind as to how to take care of my parents. They all meant well at this place. But as sad as it is. A human should not be a price tag. I sure wish they would have kept track of his clothing. When we brought him home all of his favorite shirts were gone. What I wouldn't give to have one for those to wear when i miss him so terribly... Please make a plan on how to take care of your elders before it happens!!! You will be lead in so many wrong directions when you are scared and alone. This may be the place for you. Who knows Please stay away from Oakehurst Hospice as well....!!!!!!
I say this with a very heavy heart and overwhelming disappointment with the new owners of Treacy Villa. They do not provide nearly the same level of care to the residence and cut many corners to expand personal profit, putting the residents and employees in an environment where they are being treated as cattle, rather than a loved one who should be cared for with compassion. There are about 40 residents and the new owners are cutting down to 2 caregivers per shift when a week ago they had 5 per shift (before the new owners took over). On top of cutting down on caregivers for the residents, they are limiting the number of gloves caregivers can use during their shift, which I find appalling because safety and taking precautionary measures should be one of their priorities especially during this outbreak of COVID-19. Having to move my great grandmothera retired Registered Nurse from Treacy Villa's care was the last thing my family ever wanted, but after the new owners began neglecting my great grandmother and also pressuring her and other residents to switch to their preferred doctors just so they can limit the times medication has to be administered as a way to cut staffing and save money, this is definitely not what this place was ever about. We've even had to take my great grandmother's dirty laundry home to clean it ourselves because they do not have enough staff to care for her or her needs. After years of great care and service it is sad to see what the new owners have turned this place into.
We feel very blessed to have found Treacy Villa for our mom. She is safe, well cared for by a thoughtful friendly staff. Over the years my sister and I have had to place Mom in different facilities temporarily,,,,but Dementia, Alzheimer's, and Arthritis have made it necessary to place her in one permanently. This was a difficult decision not taken lightly. We looked at many places. We've had other family members living in long term care facilities so we knew what to look for. Based on the things that really matter to us Treacy Villa is just the right place for Mom. It's all about the people. A thoughtful, friendly, responsible staff who really take their time and actually pay attention to the loved ones entrusted to their care is THE most important thing. Cleanliness, a peaceful atmosphere, and our mother's safety, dignity and wellness were basics on our list. Treacy Villa checks all the boxes. I visit Mom nearly every day so I see a lot. What I see is patience and caring, and love.
This Is it an emotional review because it is so close to my heart. My wonderful father is at Treacy Villa being being cared for because he has dementia. About 2 1/2 months ago my mother had a stroke and when we had to find a place for our dad to stay, until my mother could recover, Treacy Villa came highly recommended. When you first enter the building, you'll see it's a very simple building with not a lot of technology or noise. That in itself is perfect for my aging father, who just needs peace and quiet. The staff is amazing and my father seems to trust them. We're hoping to move our father home soon, now that my mother is getting better, but Treacy Villa was the perfect place to keep him safe and Oscar and his staff are wonderful!
Anyone looking for the right place for a loved one diagnosed with dementia knows the challenges. You want a facility that treats your family member like a family member. You search for a facility that has experience in treating the various symptoms and struggles your loved one is going through. You hope your loved one is treated with dignity and respect. You expect cleanliness, and wholesome, fresh food. You know your loved one must be safe . Finding Treacy Villa has given our family relief and reassurance , We know our mom is well cared for...In every way. The ( plentiful) staff is exceptional! So kind, attentive and caring. The food is homemade , tasty and fresh. I am always greeted with smiles, and updates. Our mother's doctor can keep in contact with the Med staff , and a staff member can take her to the doctor if we cannot. Her hair is cut and nails are painted regularly ( all at no additional charge). If Mom needs a little extra care , it is provided. No " nickel and dime " at Treacy Villa. And she is happy!!! We rest better, knowing she is so well cared for. The guilt of not being able to care for her ourselves is lifted . And knowing she's looked after 24/7 by an experienced, attentive and caring staff is reassuring. Treacy Villa is different from the rest. ...it's not about the beautiful landscaping , bubbling fountains and linen napkins ... it's about the care... that's what's most important. That's what you receive at Treacy Villa . And it's genuine. More places should follow the model of Treacy Villa . My family is so grateful to Mr Treacy and the staff for their compassion and care.
Such friendly staff. Took my friend in for her 1st day and they did such a great job to make her feel comfortable, even gave her a new hair cut the very 1st day! I felt very good about leaving her there. This place is clean, nice and has great staff. What more could you want for your loved ones. Thank you all very much!
Worst place ever to work for . Management their is not grate at all. There is a lot of favoritism between the manager and the caregivers. If they like you they give you the good hours if they don't they will do their best to make your work space hell.. they have people working their for more then 20 years don’t get recognized for their hard work.
I am writing on behalf of Treacy Villa. We are sorry your experience here was such a negative one for you, however, as you know, we have many caregivers that have worked for us for many years in fact some are approaching 30 years of employment with Treacy Villa, and we are very proud of that. The nature of the job as a caregiver is that newer hires do not get the best shifts; they get the shifts that longer term employees do not want to work. It's like that in a lot of businesses; you have to work your way up and earn the better shifts. We wish you the best in your search for an ideal job....
I was hired to work for this location and all I can say is DO NOT WORK here! I left shortly after starting because it was absolute hell. The management is horrible and this place runs solely on favoritism! Just because I was new they would give me the harder patients and the other caregivers would form a clique so it was pretty much a "screw you" scenario. It's like they want you to fail. The overall work environment was so negative and unfair that just being there I would get headaches and would dread coming in. The pay is unfortunate and the work is demanding. I gave one star but honestly I would give zero!!!
