Review Summary
The following is an AI generated summary of the reviews of the community from across the web.
Reviews of Thornton Place reveal a mixed bag of experiences and opinions from residents and their families. Positive feedback highlights the great staff, excellent food, and a friendly, caring environment. Many appreciate the clean facilities, daily activities, and the welcoming atmosphere for both residents and their pets. The chef-prepared meals and attentive staff, including an Executive Chef who listens to resident requests, are frequently mentioned as highlights.
However, there are significant concerns raised by some reviewers. Issues include perceived rudeness from staff during inquiries, high prices deemed unaffordable for retirees, and dissatisfaction with the quality of meals on occasion. A major concern among negative reviews is the reported presence of bed bugs, with multiple accounts of infestations not being adequately addressed by management. Complaints about cleanliness, maintenance, and safety practices, such as the lack of fire or tornado drills, are also noted. Additionally, some reviewers express disappointment with changes following new ownership, including increased costs and a decline in the quality of services and facilities.
While some residents and their families have had positive experiences, recommending Thornton Place for its community and care, others urge caution due to their negative experiences, particularly concerning pest control and management responsiveness. Prospective residents and their families are encouraged to consider these varied experiences when making decisions about senior living options.
