Overview of Staff and Training
All care staff are required to complete the PA Bureau of Human Services Direct Care Staff and Competency Test. Our Medication Technicians undergo additional certifications, the specifics of which are currently unspecified.
Safety and Well-being Measures
We have care staff available 24/7 to oversee and assist residents as needed. Our front doors lock after 7PM for security. For residents at risk of wandering, we offer wander guards that trigger an alarm if they move too far from an exit. Additionally, we have a secure dementia care unit for those with dementia.
Transition Support Services
We offer referrals to moving and cleaning companies. A support group, led by life coach Patti Vogl, meets monthly to aid residents' transition into the community.
Transportation Services
Yes, we do offer transportation services for residents.
Dining Experience
We have two main dining rooms, one for personal care and one for independent living. Personal care residents receive three meals a day, while independent living residents receive one meal a day, with the option to add more meal plans. Meals are included in the resident’s contract.
Addressing Complaints and Issues
We have a formal grievance procedure that involves filling out a form, which is then escalated to the appropriate director and department.
Cost of Living
Our community, The Woods, offers three levels of care, with costs ranging from $3,935.00 to approximately $7,000/month.
Communication with Residents' Families
We use a building-wide database for all clinical, administrative, and communicative duties. Monthly emails are sent out with important information and updates. We also communicate directly with families as needed. The management team meets weekly to discuss resident concerns and decides if family outreach is necessary.
Short-term or Respite Stays
Yes, we offer short-term or respite stays ranging from 30-60 days, with costs between $185/day to $210/day.
Pet-Friendly Community

Aging in Place
