Overview of Staff and Training
Our facility is staffed with a range of professionals including administrative professionals such as an Executive Director and Business Director who hold college degrees. Our healthcare team includes a Wellness Director who is a RN, BSN, an Assistant Wellness Director who is a RN, a lead nurse who is a RN, and floor nurses that are mostly LPNs. Our dining team is led by an Executive Chef and a Dining Services Director. While some of our caregivers are STNAs, it is not a mandatory requirement. All staff members undergo an orientation process, and on-the-floor training varies depending on the job role.
Safety and Well-being Measures
To ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, our doors are locked from 8PM to 8AM. We have a concierge available from 8AM to 8PM. Additionally, we have installed cameras in the parking lot and hallways for added security.
Transition Support Services
We offer support for new residents transitioning into the community through our new resident welcoming committee.
Transportation Services
Transportation services are available for residents on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00AM to 3:00PM. Residents must be able to independently get in and out of the vehicle. The driver is responsible for drop-offs and pick-ups but does not stay during appointments.
Dining Experience
Our dining room offers a restaurant-style experience where residents are served by a waiter. Dinner service includes two specials with varying proteins, and an always available menu is offered for those who prefer other options. Breakfast includes a traditional hot breakfast.
Resident Complaints and Issues
If a resident has a complaint or issue, they can schedule an appointment with our Executive Director, Kevin Potts, to discuss their concerns. We also hold monthly town hall meetings where residents can voice their concerns or praises.
Communication with Residents' Families
Our Executive Director, Kevin Potts, sends out weekly email updates to keep families informed. For updates on a resident's well-being, we may call, email, or schedule a care conference.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We do not offer short-term or respite stays due to high occupancy levels.
Pet-Friendly Community
Yes, we are a pet-friendly community for small pets under 30 lbs.
Vaccinations
Residents can receive flu vaccinations within the community. However, we do not provide COVID vaccinations on-site.
Aging in Place
Residents are able to age in place with our Assisted Living and Memory Care services, depending on the apartment style and service line (independent, assisted, or memory care).

Our community is staffed 24 hours a day to provide medication administration, escort and transport service and dementia care. A licensed nurse also is on call 24 hours a day should Assisted Living residents have a medical emergency. Residents receive regular personal care assessments and plans that are tailored to their individual needs. That means other services such as medication management, additional housekeeping, incontinence care and bathing, dressing and grooming assistance can also be requested. Residents also have access to a choice of home health agencies.

You can be assured that we provide the quality care that will allow seniors to remain as self-reliant as possible while living in a supportive environment. Independent Living and Assisted Living apartments offer one and two bedrooms with full kitchens or kitchenettes along with a bevy of safety features including safety-assist hand railings in bathrooms, emergency call buttons and individual locked mailboxes. Sunrooms and furnished outdoor patios are available in select apartment homes. A host of calendar activities and social programming such as daily happy hours and monthly birthday celebrations provide that neighborhood feeling that residents and their loved ones appreciate and respect. Cozy seating areas and the lounge with a big-screen TV are popular gathering areas during downtime. Our friendly and professional team is available 24 hours a day to help with support services that include medication management, housekeeping and escort assistance. Our Cincinnati senior care community provides easy access to Interstate 74, allowing residents to get out and explore the many restaurants, recreational areas and attractions that make our city great.
Respite Stays at The Wellington
We do offer respite stays here at The Wellington. Whether you are a patient recovering from a recent hospital stay or caregiver who needs a much-deserved break, the Respite Care program offered by Sonida Senior Living may be just the solution you need. Our program, based on availability and individual community services offered, provides a positive, vibrant environment for senior adults who may need some level of temporary support or monitoring in the absence of their normal caregivers through short-term stays, depending on individual needs. Through our Respite Care program, we can assist residents in regaining wellness and independence. Respite Care residents enjoy a temporary, spacious apartment with access to all of a community’s services, amenities and features. There is a two-week minimum for all respite stays.

Monthly Basic Service Rate Includes
Our monthly basic service rate includes; all utilities, basic cable through Spectrum (approx. 80 channels,) 24-hour staffing with access to the clinical team and resident care aides, restaurant-style dining, biweekly housekeeping, personal laundry service (included with Assisted Living and Memory Care,) scheduled social outings and shopping excursions, assistance with activities of daily living, as well as a host of activities enrich the lives of those we serve.
