Overview of Our Senior Living Community
We do have a waitlist for our independent living neighborhood. We have some availability in our memory care and assisted living neighborhoods. We have a nurse on staff twenty four hours a day and seven days a week due to our memory care community. Our assisted living community is supervised by a RN. Our memory care community is managed by a LPN. All of our care partners are trained in house via media education along with direct education and training under the supervision of our nurse managers.
Safety and Security
The safety and security is of paramount concern. We have monthly fire drills along with a secure building at night. We have a front desk receptionist at the entrance from 8-4:30 pm. The doors of the building are locked every evening from others trying to enter. Staff is available to allow appropriate guests 24 hours a day. Our memory care is a secured unit that allows guests/family members throughout the day.
Activities and Social Well-being
We have two directors of activities that receive extensive training to provide events throughout the day in order to ensure the social well-being of all of our residents. Activities include trips locally to shopping, local restaurants, and field trips to nearby venues.
Support for Families
We offer assistance with family members as their loved one transitions into one of our neighborhoods. Education of disease process is one of the many resources that we try to support families with. We do offer transportation to local physicians here in the Decatur area.
Dining Experience
Our food is well balanced and good tasting. The dining experience is restaurant style with a daily menu with selections along with an any time menu such as salads, sandwiches, and other fare. (I would be glad to schedule a lunch tour so you can taste the fare).
Communication and Complaints
All complaints are directed to our executive director Katina Eads, who will address any issues as soon as possible without prejudice. Family communication is determined by the plan of care as directed by the resident and the family involvement.
Respite Stays and Pet Policy
We do offer respite stays if the room is available. The cost is 250.00 a day in assisted living and 300.00 a day in memory care. We have a two week minimum. We are a pet friendly community as long as the resident is able to provide care for the pet.
Health and Vaccinations
All vaccinations are voluntary and are offered on an annual basis. We are committed to aging in place as long as the resident can stay within the state guidelines.
State Regulations and Pricing
The state of Alabama regulates the senior living criteria for residency. As long as the resident does not require continuous skilled nursing care. If the resident has swallowing issues, or becomes bedbound without probability of recovery, the state requires that we issue a thirty day notice to move into a skilled long term community. Our prices are determined by the level of care needed. Our independent living prices start at 3900.00 per month. Assisted living starts at 3900.00 per month. Our memory care starts at 5900.00 per month.
