I recently moved my 93-year-old mother from Fresno, CA to The Springs at South Biscayne, North Port, FL. I was greatly assisted by Sales Representative Steve Barboe. What a great professional he is, by the way. I was looking for a facility for my mom that would be, above all, somewhere she'd be happy to be at, but also close to where I live. There are several nice places in Venice and Port Charlotte, but the Springs is the nicest of all. My mom lived in a single-family home for 43 years and it wasn't easy for her to leave a place she and my dad built new. I had to find a very nice place and The Springs is that place. Mom has heard all the somewhat negative stories about assisted living facilities. From lousy food to lousy care and overpriced. She has been pleasantly surprised how good the food is. She tells everyone. She orders food from a menu. If she doesn't want one of the menu items, she can get a salad, a burger, a BLT, or chicken salad sandwich. They make her special scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon bits for breakfast. The price is competitive with all other facilities I suspect, but Steve will work with you. The entire staff, nursing, cleaning, maintenance and business are just really nice, caring people. Mom is happy and that's the most important thing to me. If you're looking for a place for a parent, a friend or just to recommend to someone, I highly recommend The Springs at South Biscayne in North Port. Check it for yourself. Ask for Steve Barboe to assist you. I guarantee you'll be happy you chose this facility for your loved one. And although my mom is not in the memory care side of the facility, it is rated equally as nice.

The staff at The Springs at South Biscayne was wonderful in admitting my mom to assisted living after the passing of my dad. They were very thorough, helpful and caring during our difficult situation. Since then, they have been encouraging and supportive.  The food, activities and accommodations are great.  Special thanks go to Steve, Trista, and Hank for making this a smooth transition for my mom!

Horrible place to work. Worked here for 2 years. Always understaffed. Unsafe conditions for the Residents!! Lack of appropriate cleaning. Floors are filthy. Management is unprofessional. Lack of medically trained employees. I would never allow a family member or friend to live or work for this company! Go somewhere else!! Memory care unit full of scabies some residents were left untreated for weeks. COVID positive employees are offered no compensation, and lack of appropriate cleaning during a pandemic.

I recently moved my 93-year-old mom from Fresno, CA to The Springs at South Biscayne, North Port, FL. I was greatly assisted by Mr. Steve Barboe, Senior Sales Consultant, who has absolutely done everything to make this a smooth transition for mom. My mom lived in a single-family home she and my dad built 43 years ago. Not easy leaving all that behind. Mom couldn’t live alone anymore and she opted to move close to me; I’m in North Port too, where I could best assist her in her twilight years. From the entire business staff, medical staff, cleaning and maintenance staff, kitchen staff, one would be hard-pressed to find a better place. There are an abundant number of fine assisted living facilities in SW Florida, but The Springs at South Biscayne is a facility you should seriously consider for a loved one, friend, or to just pass along to persons having to make these hard decisions. It is my mom’s “home” now and most importantly she likes it. Assisted living facilities don’t always have great reputations, but this facility is not like others. It’s new, clean, and very nice. Apartments are decent size and as my mom will say, “the food is very good.” That’s a real plus for our loved ones. Mom can order from a menu and if the daily choices aren’t to her liking, then she can have a burger, soup, BLT, chicken or egg salad sandwich. And ice cream whenever she wants. Mom really likes that. The medical staff closely monitors all residents and does everything they can to keep mom healthy and strong. If you don’t believe what I’m writing, check it out yourself. This is very important to me as this is my mom’s home and her life. Speak with Steve Barboe for assistance and he’ll work with you however he can. If my mom should ever need memory care, which I hope doesn’t happen, The Springs has a very highly rated onsite memory care facility as well. Putting a loved one in an assisted living facility isn’t easy, but I’m pleased where my mom is at.
