Overview of Professional Staff and Training
Our staff consists of professionals in various fields, such as our Dining Director who has a Culinary degree, I am a licensed Residential Care Administrator, our Activity Director has a certification, and our Nursing Director also has extensive training on dementia (she oversees the licensed memory care neighborhood). All staff is in-serviced annually on all OSHA required training as well as infection control protocols, customer service, resident rights, and abuse and neglect protocols. For specific licenses and certifications, they receive training as required by state.
Safety and Well-being Measures
Our Independent Living has someone on sight 24 hours a day. All residents have an emergency pendant they can utilize that goes to a paging system which is monitored 24 hours per day.
Resources for Transitioning into the Community
We have a resident ambassador group who help new residents get acclimated to the community, activities, and the dining room. Also, when someone moves in, we offer reminders and escorts to the dining room to assist them with logistics.
Transportation Services
We have transportation M-F with some scheduled, such as local banks, drug stores, shopping etc., and residents can also request transportation to Doctor appointments, shopping, hair appointments, and special trips. On Sunday, we offer transportation to several local churches.
Dining Experience
We provide three meals daily that are served restaurant style.
Resident Complaints and Issues
If a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed, they would come to me and I will address it.
Cost of Living
Our one bedrooms start at $3295 per month and we go up to $5895 for a large two bedroom. The rent includes everything except telephone service. Basic cable, WiFi, all utilities, weekly housekeeping, three meals daily, transportation, and activities are included.
Communication with Resident's Families
In Independent Living we do not communicate with resident’s families unless there is a need, for example, if someone falls in their apartment and utilizes their pendant and they need to be sent out, yes we call the families. In our Independent Living, the families are very involved and they communicate with each other.
Short-term or Respite Stays
Yes, we do offer short-term or respite stays and it is $175 per day.
Pet-Friendly Community
Yes, we are a pet-friendly community!
Covid and Flu Vaccinations
We had a pharmacy come in and provide flu vaccines this year, but not Covid Boosters. In the prior years, we did both.
Aging in Place
In our Independent Living, we do have residents aging in place and they utilize private duty caregivers to provide their care. We have availability of 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom apartments, however, we are on a waitlist for our large apartments.
