1. Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
We do not.
2. Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
In our assisted living, all of our nurses and aides are state certified. We also require regular training for all associates at Abbewood through our Healthcare Academy.
3. Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
In our Assisted Living, all residents have pendants they can press so nurses or aides can immediately respond. The nurses and aides also do regular rounds of the apartment, checking on residents to see if they need anything or have any concerns. In Independent Living, our concierges regularly check on residents if they haven't seen them and some residents also have chosen to have pendants. Throughout the community, our staff is trained regularly to respond to fires and other emergencies.
4. Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents transition into the community?
Our leadership team is here to help with the transition. We can offer guidance on moving services, downsizing, financial assistance, and other areas of need. We also have an associate who provides guidance to our new residents.
5. Do you offer transportation services for residents?
The Abbewood offers free transportation to all medical appointments within a 15-mile radius of our community. We also provide weekly trips to Walmart, Drugmart, and banks.
6. Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
All of our food is chef-prepared in a restaurant setting. Residents are greeted by wait staff, who take their orders. Along with daily specials, we have an extensive always available menu.
7. What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
Complaints or concerns can be directly addressed with our Executive Director or any member of our leadership team.
8. What is the cost of living in your community?

9. What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
In Assisted Living, we have regular care conferences with families. In addition, we immediately notify families if there is a health concern or change of condition.
10. Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
We offer short-term respite stays with a 30-day minimum. The cost is $5500 a month.
11. Are you all a pet-friendly community?
We do allow small dogs and cats.
12. Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
Yes
13. Are residents able to age in place?
While we are a Continuing Care Campus, residents may have to change apartments to access the best level of care. Along with Independent and Assisted living, our sister company, Life Care Center of Elyria, is right next door for rehab and long-term needs.
