For what elderly people pay to live here, they aren't getting anything special. Growing up around nursing homes, I have no respect for this place. It's a nice facility, but there are problems. I've had family stay here before, and I think there are a lot better options out there. My biggest pet peeve about any type of assisted living facility versus a hospital or nursing home is the fact that the employees aren't required to go through any training through the Oregon State Board of Nursing to work here. Any idiot on the planet can work here. Which includes passing out narcotics to patients/residents. I don't know about anyone else, but I find someone without any certification or training handing out narcotics to be a problem. The food leaves a lot to be desired. Again, I doubt they hire anyone who knows how to cook, budget, or portion it correctly. I am not remotely impressed. Usually in places like this they will have a nutritionist on staff, and the head of the kitchen will have a degree. Not just a random person who can cook at home. The facility is nice, like I said. For cleanliness and being aesthetically pleasing, it gets an A plus. They have a very small parking lot, that isn't sectioned off, or marked in any way, which I think it should be. It should be marked for residents, employees, and visitors. That way everyone parks in the correct area, and residents aren't left parking at the end of the lot and walking way more than they can actually handle. The parking lot is also very small. I think it needs to be a little bit bigger to handle all of the employees, residents, and visitors. They also abuse the fire lane. The administrator will park her truck there, in a marked loading zone for paramedics and fire trucks. Long after I had a family member live here, I had to go in for work, and I had hopes that they had improved. I was disappointed. Employees are less than friendly. I've had to deliver newspapers in here, which they let me in the door, I had to ring a doorbell. I was let in, and since it wasn't normally my route, I had to ask the employee who typically delivered them. Some places have the staff do it, some have the carrier do it, it varies by each place. The employee cops a total attitude, and instead of just saying I needed to deliver to each individual room, she says, "I hope you don't expect me to deliver those for you." I thought she could have approached that in a totally different manner that didn't come across in such a hostile way. I had no problem doing it myself, but I wanted confirmation as to how it was typically done. Is it a place I would recommend? Absolutely not. It gets two stars for being a clean facility, but that's about the extent of the positive aspect of this place. Like I said, there are far better assisted living facilities out there, with much better employees as well.
Spring Valley is a wonderful community filled with wonderful staff and amazing residents. The thing that makes Spring Valley truly amazing in my opinion is the caring staff, and this starts at the top. The Executive Director really cares about the staff and the care of the residents and it shows when you walk through the doors of Spring Valley from a warm greeting to a smiling resident. Best senior living community in the Eugene/Springfield area!
The staff members at Spring Valley are so caring and kind. You can tell that they enjoy their jobs and treat the residents like their own family. Amy throws fun events to bring the residents together and to keep them socially involved. The staff are very knowledgeable and quick to answer any questions you have.

It’s like a family here & Amy does a fabulous job of welcoming you with open arms and making you and your loved ones feel special.
Spring Valley is a lovely community. From the time you walk in the door you feel the warmth and love of home. The ambiance of the building is intimate and cozy, and the staff is professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. Spring Valley has an impeccable reputation in the Eugene-Springfield area for quality of care in a beautiful environment.

i was dreading having a conversation with someone about assisted living, believing all of the stories that I have heard over the years. Amy was such a delight to talk with. Amy answered all of my questions and listened to all of my fears and concerns that I was feeling. I felt validated and at ease after Amy helped me explore the idea of an assisted living. Armed with the facts I am now able to make an informed decision. Thank you so much Amy for your efforts to help me feel Confident about My decision.
My dad lived at Spring Valley Assisted Living for several years before having to be transferred to Memory Care. The staff at Spring Valley became his second family, he loved it there. His initial transition was wonderful, everyone was so welcoming and made him feel at home. The manager, Tracy, was stellar in her commitment to his and other resident's needs.I highly recommend visiting if you are looking for a facility for yourself or a loved one.
Spring Valley is an amazing place to live! I have seen first hand the warm and caring approach from the entire team. Community living can be a new experience for seniors, with the expertise of the management staff, they will guide you and your loved one through the entire process, which can be overwhelming at times.Have a concern? They will work with you to address it. Want to see a new activity? Just let them know and they will work on making it happen. Want to see your favorite foods on the menu? They are happy to hear your request! The entire team works tirelessly to have the most highly trained staff and to safely meet the needs of residents. No facility will ever be the same as your own home... but Spring Valley, Tracy and her team are the next best thing.
I had the pleasure some time ago to have Tracy and her Team and Spring Valley Assisted Living care for my 2 Parents. The Team at SVAL is amazing. My Parents had come from their private residence and my Sister and I were concerned that they would struggle in fitting in and becoming comfortable, in their new home. They were treated so very kindly, with respect and all the staff was so generous with their time in comforting them.My Parents have both passed on since, but I can truly say that the Staff and Management of Spring Valley made the last months of their lives both happy, warm and made to feel at home, every day. Thank you for your love and kindness SVAL Team and I wish you all a Joyous and Peaceful Holiday.
wonderful Community lovely residentsSuper sweet staff aside from a few of the girls I could tell treated the newer workers poorly For not catching on as fast as they wanted to during meal times overall front desk staff Office staff and most of the workers seemed great the food served was beautiful compared to some other Care community’s the chef on duty was kind and willing To Do whatever to ensure residents got what they wanted to eat residents seemed happy and well cared for overall this is a great community
I liked Spring Valley but my mom only spent ONE night in their facility due to having to enter the hospital. When my mom was going to be released the facility decided they couldn’t care for her. That was fine but they kept my moms $2500.00 fee. They acted like they were doing us a favor and when your loved one isn’t doing well your not thinking straight. I felt taken advantage of.
