Waitlist Information
Yes, we have a wait list for Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. The apartment style and whether you are seeking Independent Living versus Assisted Living are factors that will influence the wait time. Detailed information about the waitlist process is provided on the second page of the attached form.
Staff and Training
In Assisted Living, all staff are trained according to the State of Minnesota's guidelines. This includes up to 8 hours of dementia training initially, followed by 2 hours of annual training. Ongoing meetings and trainings are held throughout the year for both directors and frontline staff. Our Comfort Health nursing team receives additional training.
Safety and Well-being Measures
All staff are trained according to the State of Minnesota's guidelines. Mandatory drills, including Evacuation, Elopement, Fire Drills, Severe Weather, Power Outages, and Active Shooter training/drills, are conducted regularly to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents.
Transition Support Services
Support services for residents transitioning into the community are available upon request. Specific needs can be addressed during the moving-in process or upon inquiry.
Transportation Services
Shorewood provides a shuttle service on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday with designated times to Mayo Clinic/Olmsted Medical Center and various shopping centers. A schedule is attached for your convenience.
Dining Experience
Independent Living includes 8 meals in the monthly rent, with dinner served Monday – Friday evenings and a Sunday brunch. The Bistro, open Tuesday – Saturday, offers items like burgers, salads, soup, and sandwiches. In Assisted Living, residents have the option of a la carte meals or a monthly plan covering Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner every day.

Cost of Living
Shorewood is a private pay community. Attached are the pricing details for Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Comfort Health’s Nursing Rates for Assisted Living. Comfort Health services are available to Assisted Living and Memory Care residents only.
Communication with Residents' Families
In Assisted Living and Memory Care, updates about residents' well-being are communicated by the Director of Nursing or our Resident Services Director. In Memory Care, the Reflections Director will reach out with any concerns or updates.
Short-term or Respite Stays
Short-term or respite stays are available in Assisted Living based on availability. Specific apartments are not reserved for respite stays. Respite information and Comfort Health Rates for the healthcare portion of the stay are attached.
Pet Policy
Our community is cat, bird, and fish-friendly. Dogs are allowed to visit with current vaccination records but cannot stay overnight.
Vaccination Clinics
Flu and COVID vaccination clinics are available for residents within the community.
Aging in Place
Residents can live in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. Moving from Independent to Assisted Living/Memory Care requires a change of apartments. Detailed information about the waitlist process for these transitions is provided.
