Overview of Professionals and Training
Our staff includes a medical director, visiting podiatrist, geri psych, wound care specialists, occupational therapists (OT), and physical therapists (PT). All staff undergo standard monthly training through the office of health care, including basic in-services.
Safety and Well-being Measures
Our community is secured with locked, coded exterior doors to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents.
Resources and Support Services
We offer occupational and physical therapy through outside vendors. While we do not provide financial support, our room rates and levels of care are competitively priced.
Transportation Services
We do not offer transportation services for residents.
Dining Experience
All residents dine in the central dining room. Our menu is created by a licensed dietitian, in compliance with assisted living regulations. Our two cooks have been with us since the company's inception 18 years ago.
Addressing Complaints and Issues
Residents can speak to any staff member or preferably the community manager about any complaints or issues. We also hold monthly resident council meetings for group discussions.
Communication with Residents' Families
We keep families updated via email or phone regarding any concerns. Families are welcome to visit or contact the community manager anytime.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We offer short-term respite stays starting from four days at $175 per day.
Pet-Friendly Community
Yes, we are a pet-friendly community. Our Australian Shepherd dogs often visit, and we have "pets on wheels" visits as well.
Vaccinations
Flu vaccines are administered annually upon resident or family request. We have hosted booster clinics in the past year but are not currently offering Covid vaccines.
Aging in Place
Absolutely. We are contracted with 2-3 hospice agencies. Currently, our private rooms with shared bathrooms at Shangri La are sold out, which are our least expensive apartments.
Understanding Financial Aspects of Assisted Living
One of the main items you want to look for (financially) when looking for an Assisted Living are the levels of care. Here at Shangri la and Paradise, we only have three levels of care (vs 4 or 5) that are priced at $700, $925, and $1200. Our goal is to keep your loved one here with our excellent care due to our extremely high staff retention. Approximately 60-70% of our staff has been working at Shangri la for over 8 years.
