They are defiantly struggling to get good help. We went for a visit today and they stuck us outside in the heat. When i all the little helper girl why they were doing outside visits with a national weather service heat advisory shesaid we didn't know it was gonna be hot. If you don't want to sit in the heat we can cancel the visit. Lot of compassion for the elderly patients.

Regence Care put a post op hip patient on the city bus to go to a doctor’s appointment to have staples removed and x-rays. Regence gave the patient $2 for the return trip. Why would you put a high risk patient in public transportation in the middle of a pandemic?

My mother is there, she is suffering from dementia and a broken hip. Everyone there is so friendly and they have activities she can participate in. I feel so much better knowing that she is taken care of. They all seem to really care about the residents. What a relief!!!

I give Regency Care a 5 star rating because it's a respectable and great place. In 2014 my husband came to Regency Care on a short term stay. He was treated with great care and kindness. In 2016 my husband needed more care than I could provide him. So we made the decision to have him admitted again. This time for long term. Now 2019 my husband has dementia with the inability to walk. All staff treat him with great respect and kindness. Regency Care is the best in Grants Pass.

My mother was at the facility recently. The nursing staff is very friendly and there is a lot of long term staff. The therapy team is mostly fun and worked well with her. There was a therapist that was very gruff always making necklaces with paperclips, but I digress. The aides are great most of the time but I can’t say I haven’t seen a couple bad apples. But you will see that anywhere. The food is horrible- I often bring my mother in food because the food is cold or just plain inedible. I have been to every facility in the city and this seems to be the most homey and the best fit for my mother

My mother was transferred to Regency from the hospital. Her care was much of that given to an unwanted houseplant. She was given food and water, but was not coaxed into eating. Che chose to eat nothing but dessert, and when I requested 4 different times to please withhold dessert until meal was eaten, my requests were ignored. Some of the staff was rough while bathing, and made her feel as though she was a rag doll being flung around by a caretaker that smelled of cigarette smoke. Twice in one night she slipped out of bed, and was unable to get help or reach the call button, and had to lay on the floor until help arrived. After the first time something should have been put in place to prevent re-occurrence. The final day of her residence (before I removed her), She had a blood test taken at 5:30 a.m., and at 12:30 p.m. when I went for my daily visit, I was greeted with "OH, we were going to call you". GOING TO CALL ME??? LIKE WHEN???? The test results came back at critical levels, however NOTHING had been done to get medical help. I immediately took her to the ER where she was admitted and given a transfusion and several medications to get her back to a reasonable level of health.I would not recommend this facility, unless you are looking for a place to let your loved one die an unhappy death.

My grandpa was admitted to regency to regain his strength after a fall. I was visiting the aid came in and reeked of marijuana. When I brought it to the attention of the nursing director, she made excuses, saying that it’s legal now and it might be on his clothes from home. I explained that I didn’t smell if before when I spoke with him and that he might have done it on a break and that the smell filled the room. She said she doubted it because it was only 10 o’clock and they normally don’t take their breaks before then. The smell of urine that filled the halls could have been overlooked but there were far more concerning issues. I will say that the next day he had a new aid that was thoughtful and the physical, speech and occupational therapy team seemed to care and take interest in his well being. Other than that nobody there had a clue what was going on with his care. Communication was very poor.

Not only did they charge us $1000 above what Medicare paid them for the month, they continued to serve my husband food like bologna for dinner and white bread with syrup for breakfast. They also failed to order his heart and depression meds on time, they made med errors. One I asked what the medication was she was giving him did not even know.. I walked in one day to find my husband at 80/30 bp, and they were doing nothing, had not reported it to our doctor or me. The nurse on duty said nothing had been passed on by the morning report. He could have stroked out so easy, but he felt too weak to let me move him elsewhere. Other than weekly changes, they straightened his bed just 1 x-I was there everyday, I know. I worked with and coordinated services for seniors 20 years, I know what to look for.
