I was working at Country Meadows when it was sold to Providence Place. Staff and residents were told “nothing will change but the sign”. That was the understatement of the century!! I will make a long story short. These dear souls lives were turned upside down. Their home as they knew it was being given away out of the Lobby and the staff they loved so dearly were dropping like flies. Management was no longer endearing and happy but now tyrannical and cold. To be clear, most of the staff that left would still be there but it seemed everything Country Meadows MUST go!!I would not recommend anyone bring their loved one here. No maintenance, no housekeeping, bare minimal and sorely overworked Nursing staff. I don’t know how Mr Leader can stand by and watch his E. D. run this place into the ground. Of course, this will probably be swept under the rug ( like so many other things here) as a “ disgruntled employee”. Not going to lie, this is true, however, I implore you to check out everything I posted and you’ll find it to be true. Someone certainly needs to advocate for these dear souls!
The Executive Director is uncaring, unkind, uncompassionate and impolite. The way she speaks to residents would be considered bullying. The don't have adequate staff for the number of residents on any of the three floors. Residents are not getting the care they need or what they pay for monthly. I would be appalled to send my mother or loved one to such a facility. They cant afford to hire staff but have money to buy furniture for the common areas. Where are their priorities? Residents needs should come above all else, this is not true of this facility. There main concern is money and not the residents. The have no housekeepers, so resident rooms are not being cleaned to standard. I'm surprised that the families of current residents have not called the state on this facility. David Leader the CEO is aware of what's going and has done nothing to correct the situation. These residents need someone to advocate for their rights.
We had been looking for affordable assistance for Mom since last summer. Had a few "other places" in our top 3 list, but when Mom fell at her apartment all 3 of those showed their true colors--there is a huge difference between care providers and people who care. Country Meadows cares... period, dot. My brother, sister and I were all blown away by the entire staff's compassion and obvious experience. They treat Mom like royalty and welcome all of us kids with warm words on every visit.Country Meadow's campus is deceiving from the road. It's actually a three-story building, but looks like a quaint country ranch house from the sidewalk. You will like the billing... straight forward and no layers of madness. We like the by-month payment plan. Feels like we actually have a say with Mom's hard-earned cash. Unlike the "other places" who wanted her entire life's savings.Best part: Mom loves Country Meadows. Note: 4 months ago, her heels were dug in to the carpet at her old apartment. She had a white-knuckled grip on her old front door. Now? Nothing but gushing about this and that at Country Meadows. That right there validates our choice. I dont know what current unit availability is, but I suggest you get down there and talk with them just as soon as you think your parents may need this service.
I have nothing but positive things to say about Country Meadows. They quickly made us feel like we were family from the minute Mom came through the doors. Mom has nothing but positive things to say since moving there in April. The staff is always smiling and laughing which says a lot about the work atmosphere. That transfers to the residents and their families when interacting with them. I can't say enough about how relieved my brothers and I are that Mom is being assisted with friendly, loving people. As I live outside the country, it really is a comfort to know she is living in a safe and friendly atmosphere. I would recommend Country Meadows to anyone who is looking to either downsize in their later years or a place that feels like home for a loved one. Country Meadows is that place! Home! Thanks to all the staff for all they do!
We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Country Meadows-Lancaster. Our mother stayed for rehab and care after she broke her hip in a fall within her own home. Every single staff member was kind, friendly, and professional at all times. They made her feel welcome and provided great care! The rehab staff was excellent and helped her accomplish her personal goals, even going as far as helping her make coleslaw for our family Thanksgiving! The facility was clean and everyday there were activities for which she could partake if she desired. The personal care givers were so kind and we can not thank Country Meadows enough! We would highly recommend them to other families!
I have been working with the lancaster campus for the last 5 years. I work for an outside hospice agency and have had the privilege of providing care for patients in end of life as well as education on what that looks like to their staff. With a great working relationship, we (hospice) are able to assist Country Meadows of Lancaster in providing the BEST care possible. They are top-notch in my book!
