Luis Rodrequez in the dining room has a wonderful personality in dealing with others. He is helping with an eating problem with my brother Charles Peaden. Luis should be commended by the staff. Marie Dout is my brothers CNA and is very responsive to my suggestions. Thanks to Marie for taking care of my brother.
Please do not bring a loved one to this facility. My grandfather was admitted here after a lengthy hospital stay for continued wound care and physical therapy. Unfortunately he was admitted the day DeSantis ordered no visitors in nursing facilities due to Covid. In less than 3 weeks time my grandfather went from being on the road to recovery, back to the hospital with severe sepsis where he ultimately succumbed to his infection. This facility lied about the care that was rendered. My grandfather was afraid of the staff and would beg my mother not to bring up concerns out of fear of retaliation. He did not receive the care they claimed to give, his wound was not regularly cleaned, and he lost significant weight. The facility had him transported to the hospital without any notice to family. We found out when the hospital called. The nurse at the hospital claimed to have never seen a wound as severe as my grandfather's from the neglect. We attempted to take legal action against the facility however as the case progressed it was discovered that this facility is grossly under insured and we could not proceed further. Please save your family from the hell this place is. And after they kill your loved one they'll fight to keep funds prepaid for care. All around terrible place that does not care for their patients or people in general.
Horrible experience. My mother wasn't bathed in over a week. No personal care provided. No family communication after several messages.Only time they called was to discuss insurance and money.ANNNNNND they sent her home with someone else's medication!Strongly recommened you go somewhere else if you can.
Today I was able to finally go inside and sit with my mom in her room. Yes there are still rules. There must be rules! It was the best feeling ever.Ocoee Health Care Center has taken great care with my mother in the 2 1/2 years there. They didn’t jump on letting us in for their safety as well as their residents. Slow and steady wins every time. My heart is full. ❤️
If you are considering bringing a loved one to a facility like this one, please reconsider. Ocoee Health Care Center is one of the worst facility in the entire city. The staff are uncooperative and rude to the patients and their families. The only good employees at this place is Marlene and Chantelle.
I want to thank 3 very special employees at Ocoee Healthcare Center...Marlene (Admissions)who ALWAYS responds promptly, provides options and comfort in times of crisis and follows through. She is the reason mom was initially placed at Ocoee healthcare center. She is truly passionate about the elderly and always has their best interest at heart!Luis (Activities Director) for his knowledge, patience and dedication to residents with memory deficits, such as in the case of my mother. He is so kind to her, consistently goes above and beyond, thank you Luis! And CNA Evelyn the first to say that working with mom can be very challenging but somehow she has not only mastered it but gained my mother’s affection...Mom loves her!Placing a parent in a skilled nursing facility, especially during a pandemic is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do! These 3 individuals have gone above and beyond for both my mother and I and I can’t thank them enough!
I've seemed to notice quite a few unpleasant reviews about the Ocoee Health Care Center and I can somehow understand why individuals may feel this way, especially during this COVID-19 crisis our country is facing at this time. However, there was one bright spot I did experience when my Father-In-Law was admitted to this facility and it came directly from the Admissions Coordinator Marleen Tapia. It's not too often that a family can experience a caring individual who took her time to answer every question we had about the entire rehabilitation process. She did such a magnificent job, my wife and I thought it would be inappropriate to avoid submitting a review. Her effectiveness assisted us greatly with making a decision to utilize this facility. With Marleen, she made us feel as though we were a part of her family and ensured us our relative would be cared for as if they were her own. We really appreciated her authenticity, kindness, knowledgeability, and sincerity. I believe this facility can benefit from employees like Marleen and should utilize her skillset in other areas of employee development. As for the facility itself, I think they did an overall average job.
