Professional Staff and Training
In regards to the types of professionals we have on site, there are multiple types with numerous years of experience. Our current Executive Director has been in the industry for 18 years, has obtained her bachelors in nursing, along with numerous years of dementia training. We have two full time and part time registered nurses, who have also obtained their bachelor’s in nursing, along with specific directors for each of our departments. Training can depend on the department that our professionals work in. We require that all our staff is CRP and First Aid Certified. Additionally, the entirety of our team is trained on how to fill out our Behavioral and Incident forms, for when a report has to be made on a resident. All our servers are required to have a Food Handlers Permit. We also hold monthly staff meetings where we discuss new training techniques that our staff can use when it comes to the care and well-being of our residents.
Safety Measures
Safety wise, we have staff on site 24/7, along with security and MedTech’s throughout the night. Our doors are locked from 8PM-8AM, with access granted throughout our key fobs, or doorbell system which security controls throughout the night. All visitors must check in with our receptionists or security for after hours. All residents are given a pendant transmitter, which is our paging system between staff and residents. Once the pendant is pressed, it will send an alert to our CNA’s and Receptionists, informing them with the resident name, apartment number, and their location. We have a resident tracker for our Independent Living residents, which is updated multiple times throughout the day. Our receptionists check residents in and out as they leave the building, and our Assisted Living residents are asked to notify their CNA/MedTech before they plan on leaving the facility.
Support Services for Transitions
When it comes to support services for transitions, it will depend on the designated service type. Our team will offer an orientation for all new residents, where they will meet the director for their service type (Independent/Assisted/Memory Care) – and go over ways to stay involved and comfortable within their new home. We also offer a support group for families from an outside service, which is held inside of our community. The contact information for all our directors will be given to the resident, along with any family members who request it. Our team is always here to help, and will be more than willing to offer different ways to support you and your loved ones throughout this transition.
Transportation Services
We do offer transportation services for our residents. These typically run from Monday – Friday ending around 5PM. Our transportation team can work around this when needed, if there is room in their schedule to accommodate for the transportation request. All transportation requests from I-215 West to East, 600 North to 7200 South – would be covered and no payment would be needed. For any rides out of those boundaries, there can be a fee of $20 or more, depending on how far out the destination is. I have attached our Transportation Guidelines to this email for you to review.
Dining Services
We do have an outstanding dining service in place here at our community. Our kitchen is open from 7AM-7PM, and we offer our Always Available Menu, along with a selection of Daily Specials. Our community has two dining halls that are restaurant style dining, with one of them having a Salad Bar. We offer pickup and delivery options for meals to make it easier and more convenient for our residents. Guests are also invited to attend meals with their loved ones, and can purchase guest meal tickets from our reception desk.
Addressing Complaints and Issues
When it comes to residents addressing complaints or issues, we ask that you feel comfortable with reaching out to our managers and directors with any concerns you may have. Good communication between our residents, team, and families is the key to maintaining good relationships. We are always available to discuss any issues our residents or families experience and will do our best to resolve any conflict and make sure you are fully satisfied. We also have a Resident Association, which we encourage all our residents to attend, for them to express any concerns or recommendations they may have to our team, to enhance the quality of their living and our community.
Cost of Living
Cost of living can depend on multiple factors. We have different starting rates for Independent Living and Assisted Living. We have over 40 different floor plans, which can increase the starting rates for certain units. For Assisted Living, there is also a Level of Care fee, which our brochure goes over. Memory care will have an all-inclusive Level of Care fee. I attached the brochures for our Independent, Assisted, and Memory Care – which contain price breakdowns, sample floor plans, and goes over our services and amenities offered for the specified service type.
Keeping Families Updated
We keep our residents’ families updated on their well-being by tracking their behavior and any possible incidents that they go through. Our staff is trained to notice any unfamiliar behaviors and report them to the director or CNA who is responsible for said resident, along with documenting the behavior so it can be kept track of. In the case of an emergency, our team will reach out to the family ASAP. We will send out a call in case your loved one has been injured or has fallen and received an injury from the fall. Our nurses do a re-assessment at a minimum of every six months, to ensure all needs are being met. We also have a mobile text alert system, in order to notify residents and families of any changes or announcements regarding the community.
Short-term Respite Stays
We do offer short-term respite stays, but it is based on our availability. Respite stays are offered for a maximum of 14 days - $175/day for Independent and Assisted Living, $250/day for Memory Care.
Pet-Friendly Community
We are a pet-friendly community! We require that all our pets are less than 25lbs. and up to date on vaccinations, and we keep all records of said vaccinations on file. We go through these records frequently to ensure all vaccinations are up to date, and any future needed vaccinations are acknowledged and requested from the residents. At the moment, we currently have a waitlist for our Independent Living, but we do have availability in our Assisted Living and Memory Care.
