Thank you for everything you do to care for your elders. I just returned home from visiting my parents who have been living at Otterbein for a little over 2 months. I went to a Veterans luncheon and met some amazing people. My dad called for maintenance my first day visiting and someone came thay same day. The struggle is only with getting settled but I know my parents will be in good hands
My mom is in the transitional care unit for a couple of weeks now. We knew going to rehab from the hospital was not what she wanted, but yesterday she said "this place is perfect for me - the nurses and aides are wonderful." Thank you for helping her to get stronger to prepare to come home and to make her at ease and comfortable. Would highly recommend this! Staff is great.
We have lived here in independent living for five years. We couldn't be happier. Beautiful surroundings, a lovely ranch home and wonderful friendly neighbors and staff. This is definitely a Christian Community where everyone cares. You are never a stranger here. We love the multiple activities offered. We have visited people in the health care facility and the found the rooms to be lovely. We are grateful to live in a place where we know we will be taken care of until our days on this earth end. I am an employee of Otterbein and love everything about it. The residents and staff go above and beyond with all they do, especially during the past year with the pandemic it was very challenging but together we made it work. I have worked at Otterbein for the last 6 years and can say it has been the most rewarding job I have had. I would highly recommend Otterbein as an employer and a place for our loved ones to live.
As a Social Worker I feel blessed to work along side so many dedicated partners here at Otterbein Senior Life. Recently we had family members from different states all flying in to visit a resident in Senior Living. It takes a lot of energy for this Resident to be up and out of her room. Mimi G. Has a magic about her, she beams with energy and goodness .She made her feel extra beautiful-including curling her hair and doing her nails so her family visit would go well -and it did . She was able to visit outdoors with all of her family who traveled in to see her!
Fairly new residences at Otterbein. Move here in October of 2020, right in the middle of the Covid. It has been sort of a struggle learning all of what Otterbein has to offer. Finally things are starting to open up and we have been able to take advantage of what Otterbein can do for us. Otterbein definitely has a wonderful staff. All have been very friendly and helpful. My wife Nancy and I have been able to take advantage of the exercise facilities and I have enjoyed some of the classes in the pool. I have been playing in the golf league when the weather cooperates . Hopefully we can now start taking advantages of some of the other activities Otterbein offers now that the facility is starting to open up.The church has been a real blessing to Nancy and I. The services are very similar to where we have churched in the past. Pastor Tom and Pastor Dennis are real blessings to the Otterbein community. Our only regret is that we were not given a complete introduction to all of what Otterbein has to offer. Which i am sure was done because of the mess the Covid problems presented. We are still trying to find our way around this huge facility. Hopefully when all of the doors open again, it will be easier to find our way around. Thanks to all the staff who have had to work their way around these difficult times. Lets hope better times are ahead.
Been a resident of Otterbein for almost 2 years. Was very hesitant at first to leave our home in West Chester but have not regretted the move at all. From our initial visits to finally agreeing to the move, we have been welcomed as if we've lived here forever. In fact, we feel as if we are family. So much to experience. It's a lovely, warm and loving place. Highly recommend to anyone considering a high quality retirement community
From Connie DuerschWe have been Independent Living residents at Otterbein Lebanon for nearly 4 years and we genuinely love living here! During the pandemic our caring and helpful staff did their very best to keep us engaged while still keeping us safe. Our spacious, beautiful campus allowed us wonderful opportunities for safe outdoor recreation. Otterbein Lebanon has certainly met our expectations for a retirement community. From Connie and Chuck Duersch
We have lived happily in our home here for 2/12 years. We have loved every minute. We enjoy the family atmosphere of our Court. We feel safe and looked after, particularly through the pandemic, when all the Staff have leant over backwards to make sure we are.Every effort has been made to be transparent in all decisions made on our behalf. Look forward to many more years here.
I have lived at Otterbein Lebanon for almost two years. Even though over a year of that we were in quarantine and under restrictions the Partners and staff tried to make it as good as it could be. They still offered a wide variety of activities and I always felt safe in our "Bubble".
I haven't worked here long but I absolutely love the people here, from residents to staff, my absolutely amazing supervisor some of my favorite higher-ups who are awesome thanks to all that have accepted me and helped me along so far, I hope to spend many many years working with you all!!!!!
Would you believe my husband and I have lived at Otterbein for the past 50 years, almost to the day?! We moved here when he was hired in 1971 and raised our family here on campus. Many years later, when we reached 65 we decided to continue living here. I still worked elsewhere but he began volunteering part-time because we both loved Otterbein so much and still do! The "family feel" that existed here when we were young still exists between workers and residents even though our community is three times larger now in 2021. Of course the good, the bad and the ugly can all be expected in any business or ministry as leadership and staff changes are made periodically, but this place is absolutely great and we always are happy to recommend it to others, whether they are still independent or need some other level of health care. Now we are coming out of the pandemic and want to loudly applaud how awesome this place is and has been! My spouse and I are truly blessed to have been able to live here so long and I daresay that most of our 900+ neighbors would agree with my positive review here!
I really enjoy working here! As part of the kitchen staff I have the privilege to serve the wonderful people that live here. The campus is beautiful and there are many dining options to choose from. During this pandemic while in the summer months we opened the Koi Cafe at the Pavilion to give a dining option for those who could not come to 1912 dinning room. A place where you could eat dinner while enjoying the beautiful scenery by the lake. I love to be apart of a team that continually looks to enhance the dining experience of our family here at Otterbein.
I chose to move from Southern Oregon to Otterbein Lebanon for several reasons. I was born & raised in Ohio and wanted to come home. My great grandma lived here at OL, and my grandma, my aunt, and my mom and I came here to visit her. Those are memories I will always cherish. Most important, I wanted to live in a faith-based, continuous-care facility, which OL is, where I can comfortably age in place. Were it not for Covid-19, there would be LOTS of wonderful activities. I enjoy walking around the gorgeous campus, going to movies at the Starry Night Theatre, meeting new people, and relaxing in my beautiful Terrace Place apartment. There's always arts & crafts activities, going to the YMCA pool, eating at either of the 2 fabulous restaurants or at the outdoor Pavillion in good weather, picking up a book at the large library, Bible study, exercise classes, writers' group, campus-televised announcements as well as bingo and lots more. Management and staff are very supportive, and the food here is delicious. I wholeheartedly encourage you to visit Otterbein Lebanon to see for yourself the many reasons you'll want to move here, too!
