When working here I saw unqualified people with no integrity in positions of power, covering up abuse and neglect of residents. The conditions I witnessed were appalling. Nick Bales (a reviewer here) is the ex-Executive Director and he is not a reliable source for reasons I can strongly imply but for legal reasons won't write here. Notice that Ashley Rice's review is from the same time? Almost like the ED solicited positive reviews because he was obsessed with image over substance or something...
I have been working at Jefferson Lodge for over 4 years. Management goes above and beyond to help all staff and make sure everyone is doing their job correctly. We have the best team right now and it's a very positive, professional, and fun environment to work in. We care so much for the residents and we take pride in making sure every person is cared for as if they were our own Grandma's and Grandpa's! I would put my family here in a heart beat! I've been to other communities and Jefferson Lodge is the best one I've ever been to. No doubt Jefferson Lodge is #1 in Dementia Care. We provide monthly Educational meetings on the Third Thursday around 3PM each month and are teamed up with the Alzheimer's Association and have a guest speaker at each meeting. We have nurses available 24 hours a day. There is always a licensed nurse available 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm.
Night shift is terrible, employee's don't work together, expected to do two person assists on your own half the time slowing you down for getting to the rest of the residents in timely manner and if you're new they will always and without fail stick you on the hardest hall if they can ignoring that they were scheduled for a different hall. The RN is your boss on night shift and she's one of the worst people who you can work for visibly doesn't care if your struggling and she will not properly train you, you will get a days training if you are lucky and be left to sort the rest out on your own. (Making Confusion and Struggling unavoidable)If you Talk to your co-workers on grave if you're lucky and they have the extra time they will help sometimes. You're residents are normally very sweet good people though.Be prepared to possibly be the only caregiver on shift several times.
I have been working for Jefferson Lodge since November 2018 and can say confidently it has the best care associates I Have ever worked with! It is wonderful going to work and experiencing a joyful atmosphere with a care team that works as a team to give the best care to every resident! Beyond caring for residents with physical needs there is an emphasis on social and overall holistic care. The greatest thing about Jefferson Lodge is the overwhelming feeling of genuine love for residents from every associate!
