I am a resident here at Huntington Senior Living. I have been here about a month. I will be honest that I did not want to come here. I was in another place like this. My family moved me closer to them. I have to admit that this place is 1000% better than the last 2 I have lived in. I get better care. Food is the kind of food I was brought up with and it is good to eat. They have a doc that comes into the building so if I do not need to go out to a doc appointment I do not have too. My room has all I need at a fair price. The nurses are good and no their stuff. But what I like most is the lady that runs this place. She is honest and tells it like it is with me. I ask her a question and she will tell an answer I can accept. Even if it isn't what I want to hear. I hear and see how her employees treat her and she has their respect. Not many higher ups that I care for but she is top notch!
My Grandma has been at Huntington for a couple of years now. It was hard when COVID was at it's worst and we couldn't see my Grandma. But we knew she was safe and taken care of. How do I know this? As of today no one in the BTR (memory care) she lives in has NOT had COVID. They kept my grandma and other residents safe and are still doing so. Their staff are 100% vaccinated and I have seen them temping visitors and educating people. I feel at peace that my "gammy" is taken care of.
My mom has very much enjoyed respite stays at Huntington this year. The staff is attentive to her. She loves the restaurant style dining room. Her one bedroom apartment has a terrific floor plan that she navigates easily with her walker. Their rep Zach has been a tremendous help in navigating the admission process. Happy mom...happy daughter!
If you care about your loved one, DO NOT PUT THEM HERE! Dont be fooled by the pretty online pictures and their fake smiles. They will try to sell you a dream, tell you everything this place has to offer, and straight up lie to your face. They are crooked and conniving. Half of the staff should not work in healthcare, and they neglect and abuse the residents. People pay thousands a month to live there just to be mistreated. They pay thousands a month for them to be served only one entree that is poorly cooked. They pay for housekeeping to inadequately clean their "home". Its a scam, do not trust them! Please. They just want to fill rooms and get your money.
Our Aunt was given substandard careHuntington is only geared toward mobile residentsBecause our Aunt needed more care they were unable to meet her needs even though they assured us she would get proper careShe was left in bed for 10 to 12 hours without anyone checking on herShe would call for assistance and wait up to 2 hoursThey would leave dirty dishes in the sink even though they knew she could not reach the sink from her wheelchairMany days she missed breakfast because they didn’t get her up and help her dress until after breakfast
The memory care unit is filthy. Grandma's room has not been cleaned in over 3 weeks. Can't find an employee if you need one. Bathrooms are disgusting. Hoping family finds better place soon. If grandma didn't have dimentia so bad...she would not step foot in this facility. Gross.
