3.82 out of 5 stars. Based on 96 reviews
IntegraCare is an evolving company that values its employees and their opinions and ideas. Employees appreciate the career growth opportunities, earnings incentives, and work-life balance that IntegraCare offers. Employees also enjoy interacting with the residents and their families, and appreciate the free meals during their shifts and incentives for shift pick-ups. However, due to Covid, healthcare is challenging and the resident population is changing, making the work more difficult than in years past. The company is also criticized for expecting too much from their front line managers and for not providing sick time benefits. Advice to management includes an overhaul of the company's culture and corporate structure, more real world experience for those in the corporate setting, and careful consideration of providing sick time for employees.By clicking "Get Exact Costs", you agree to our Partner's Terms of Use. I will not go into detail our experience but it sounds very similar to other recent negative reviews - numerous red flags, lack of communication, isolation, poor care, etc. Please think twice before sending a loved one here. Hunters Woods at Trails Edge - please do not comment on my review as you have others and ask for a phone call to discuss the situation further. You had plenty of time to do that before we removed our loved one from your care and facility.
An older relative was moved into memory care at HWTE earlier this year. Since her arrival, there have been more than a few instances where there has been lack of communication from staff regarding general care, and also in relation to particular incidents. I have been thoroughly disappointed with the level of care in regards to bedside manner, medication administration, hygiene, and everything in between. Unfortunately, the lack of appropriate care has correlated directly with her decline.
I took my complaints to the State after management failed to act. Exercise due diligence and look at the state reports on HWTE. You’ll find negligent practices and basic care not being met. This is no place for a family member. It’s shameful the practices that go on in the facility. They will pretend to listen to your complaints and take no substantive corrective action. NOTHING will be done to remedy the issues. It is exhausting the amount of advocacy family members need to take on. It’s a full time job to make sure they’re doing the basic care and they fell short time and time again. Hire a case manager to assist and check up on what care HWTE says they are providing. Check the medication profiles to make sure there aren’t mistakes. Check the call bells to make sure they work. Check the care plan to ensure they’re doing what they’ve told you will be done. It’s a disgusting business model and they’re making a ton of money at the expense of your family member. RUN THE OTHER WAY.
The moment I stepped into Hunters Woods I knew this was going to be my mother in laws new home. It just felt right. I met with Sherry Berk the Community Relations Director and received a very thorough tour. She put us at ease with all of our concerns. The professionalism continued throughout the process once we made the commitment to make the move. The assessment done by Seth Wirekoh the Resident Wellness Director and Parween Nooruddin the Assistant Executive Operations Officer was so professional with attention to detail. Once the decision was made Riley Costellia the Community Relations Assistant had just a few hours to throw all necessary paperwork together and did it in record time. Literally less then 24 hours turnaround... AMAZING! The very next day the move in went very smooth! I was finally able to bring her over to her new home and she was greeted by so many staff members which made her feel really good! THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THE ENTIRE HUNTERS WOODS STAFF!!!!!
I highly recommend Hunter Woods at trails edge, I’ve been working here for 3 months and the staff really knows how to take care of our residents, they constantly give us courses to improve and be a better persons for them, they are treated very kindly and we know how to act in every situation, always being nice and kindly with the residents. They have a lot of interesting activities for them so they can keep doing things they like, keeping them in a state of mind occupied and of course with their respective rests in the day, the food is very good, and their rooms are very equipped with the essential furniture they need. We are all a family and it feels like home. Highly recommend!!
Finding the right place for an older relative is extremely stressful to begin with. We had such high hopes with Hunters Woods and put our trust in the staff to take excellent care of our loved one, unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. In the short time our loved one was in their care, her overall health declined tremendously. The lack in communication was alarming & there were several mix ups with extremely important medications. The general lack of care became very obvious, even with the limited amount of access they allow family members. Please think twice before sending your loved one to this facility.
If I could give Hunters Woods at Trails Edge zero stars I would. A close family friend was moved in during the height of the pandemic. Hunters Woods was being entrusted with all aspects of this persons care. Unfortunately since her move in date there have been many red flags; including but not limited to, lack of communication, decline in the level of care, not administering proper hygienic practices, poor bedside manner and medication changes without notification-- just to name a few. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.
Hunters Woods at Trails Edge is truly a great, safe place to work and great safe place to live! They do more preventative Covid testing and precautions than any other community while providing exciting outdoor parties and events for residents and their families! It is the ideal combination of socialization and safety to provide a wholistic wellness approach for team members and residents!
As a native Restonian and a professional in the senior living field having a community like Hunters Woods at Trails Edge was long overdue! A community that is walkable and serves independent living, assisted and memory care on this side of Reston was essential. I have had the good fortune to interact with staff and residents at a variety of events and I have been impressed!
My friend was in memory care at HWTE and it was the absolute worst experience. Neglect of the residents with little if any meaningful activities of engagement. The facility ignores the most vulnerable and only puts the “show” on for the independent and assisted living residents and families. I know the state has inspected this facility and found many violations. BEWARE – do not entrust your loved one into their care. So many of the staff that were honest and genuine caring people were forced out because the practices at the facility went against their moral code or terminated by the management team who were covering up neglect. Don’t be fooled by the dog and pony show of the marketing staff – it’s all a sham to include the google reviews that are made by staff members to bump up their average. Just disgusting practice.
I interned at Hunter’s Woods at Trail’s Edge this summer in order to complete the necessary 480 training hours needed for my Virginia assisted living administrator’s license. I was not asked to provide this review, but I think HWTE is such an amazing place that I want to help spread the word to make sure more families consider it as a possibility for their loved one.During my time with HWTE, it continued to stand out from the pack. I originally contacted about twenty different facilities in Northern Virginia to secure a training site with the majority just flat-out rejecting me since I was not a current employee in their organization while the rest just never returned my calls. Paul Adam, the activities director at Hunter’s Woods at Trails Edge, not only promptly got back to me but invited me to come take a tour and discuss my program needs the very next day.During our tour, Paul noticed that one of the memory care residents was crying. Instead of ignoring her and demonstrating the sadly too often heard phrase in this industry “she’s not my problem”, he immediately went over to comfort her and escort her outside to sit together in the garden. In just a couple of minutes he had her smiling and laughing again. “Resident Centered Care” is a buzzword that likes to get bandied about in senior-care but is rarely put into practice. This is just one of the many examples of management dropping their egos and title to help out the team and best serve the residents. This even extends all the way to the top with senior administrator Cissy Nickel seen pushing wheelchair-bound residents to lunch and serving drinks at happy hour. The start of my program could not have really come at a worse time for HWTE, as a few days prior a disgruntled former employee who did not receive the promotion to which she felt entitled got all of her friends to give multiple one-star reviews on social media as retaliation. She also contacted the state agencies (adult protective services, department of social services, senior ombudsman, etc.) which triggered repeat unannounced inspections and audits over the next several weeks. During this period of intense scrutiny, the state agencies found no merit to her claims. I have never met the former employee and I know there are always two sides to every story, however I just wanted to provide some context as to why there was a glut of angry one-star reviews all during the same period a few months back.During my internship, I attended the morning senior management meetings and was fortunate enough to be entrusted with unfettered access to all of the issues and challenges taking place. As with any industry but probably even more so in senior care where you have people taking care of people, problems do arise. Management was quick to address issues as they occurred and was always looking for ways to improve systems to prevent reoccurrence.I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such amazing people, and I really miss the residents and staff to whom I had grown close. The good news is that we are spoiled for choice here in Northern Virginia as this area boasts some of the finest senior care facilities in the whole country. If you are currently looking for senior care in the Reston area, I highly encourage you to add Hunter’s Woods to your list of choices. Best of luck in your decision and I hope your loved one still has many years left of laughter, love, and good health.
I wanted to take a moment and share with you my impressions of Hunters Woods at Trails Edge. I work with both families (the care givers) and their loved ones that move into many communities. It takes a very special heart to serve and care for the loved ones that live in the community. It is such a pleasure to be able to highly recommend Hunters Woods at Trails Edge, Sherry Berk and Riley Costellia (Community Relations) and the entire staff at Hunters Woods. They take such a Holistic approach to serving their residents. Their dedication, loyalty and concern for their emotional, physical and psychological well being is paramount to their success. It is such a privilege to work with likeminded servant leaders in caring for our loved ones. Thank you to everyone at Hunters Woods for everything that you do to take care of our loved ones, your job is not an easy one at times and can be very complicated. Your personal concern and support of each of your residents are such a blessing to everyone that is part of the "FAMILY"!
The staff is amazing and the leadership is great in this community. the community has a very welcoming and warm essence throughout the building. Sherry Berk does an amazing job and works great with Riley moving coordinator. Their communication is top notch. The most important thing that I notice is all seniors always have a smile here and everybody is extremely courteous. what a fantastic community!!!!
I can say that Hunterwoods easily distinguishes themselves. They go above and beyond in the care of all seniors at all levels of care. Above that, they have a great selection of premium food while being in a beautiful aesthetically pleasing building. The staff is very polite and have a personal relationship with seniors. I strongly recommend Hunterwoods! If you have any questions please talk to Sherri Berk, she’s amazing and very informative.
Hunters Woods at Trails Edge is wonderful! The staff and the managers there are kind, friendly, respectful and patient. We are so happy with the care and attention they have provided for our mom. It was a tough transition for her, but Hunters Woods supported her every step of the way. Now Mom loves her apartment and everyone there! Thank you to HWTE for all you have done for our mom and our entire family!

I would wholeheartedly recommend Hunters Woods at Trails Edge to any of my family members whether it be to live or work. The happy, smiling faces of the residents tell the story. This is where I want my own mom to live and enjoy a caring staff, meet and befriend other interesting residents, and take advantage of a top-notch, state of the art community.
I moved here with my little dog to independent living, in December, 2020, in the midst of a pandemic. My family and I were grateful for the safety measures they put in place to keep us safe. Staff went above and beyond expectations to help meet all our needs. The residents are friendly; I feel at home here. Staff are accessible and supportive. Parween has been my go to person and my dog’s favorite person. She encourages feedback and her office door is always open. All the employees I’ve met have been kind and supportive and have a good sense of humor. Yes, it’s a beautiful place, but most important are the staff!
Our mother moved in a couple of months back. The facility is beautiful. The staff goes out of their way to help. It is clear they have made some changes that have created better communication and greater understanding for residents. We have seen some of those changes come in and are extremely impressed. It is a pretty new place, Covid was tough on all assisted living facilities. Still we have seen them make changes to eliminate any concerns we have had.My family sleeps well knowing our mother is well cared for and feels so at home here. Special thanks - Angelita, Joe, Shakira, Judith, Parween and Cissy. Maintenance is on point, food is 5 star and service really cares about making it a good experience. It really takes a community of caring people to make this work so well. We are grateful to you all.
I visited Hunters Woods at Trails Edge after it was recommended by several friends that have family members who are residents there. I toured the community with Sherry Berk, the Community Relations Director and was really impressed with just about everything I saw. The apartments were modern, beautiful and had everything a person would need to live comfortably. There were support staff everywhere, multiple amenity rooms, balconies, social areas and even a barber shop! Every inch of the place was pristine and they clearly put a lot of effort into the aesthetic feel of the spaces to provide residents with a safe and welcoming environment.
My parents just moved into Hunters Woods and we could not be happier! I only wished we had helped them to make this move sooner! I live in Oklahoma and I was visiting my parents when my mom suggest that I go to lunch with her at Hunters Woods to look at the Senior Center for a possible future move. When we arrived we met Sherry, who could not have been more welcoming, friendly, and positive. We enjoyed taking a tour of the different apartments (studio, one bedroom, two bedrooms) and we were very impressed as we walked around the facility. Hunters Woods is beautifully decorated with stunning paintings from local artists and the apartments have all brand new appliances and are very comfortable. There are multiple common living room areas inside and out for people to gather and the amenities are amazing..... gym, PT room, hair salon, barber, activity rooms (painting, crafts, sewing, needle work, wood working), movie theater, and several dining areas. On top of that, Sherry showed us the activity calendar that has too many activities to mention here, but the following is a short list: Tai Chi, to Garden Club, Chess and Coffee, book club, party games, Bridge club, and outings to local areas of interest and events! Every staff member we met was positive and welcoming and the food was delicious! The staff obviously takes great pride in their work and their care is genuine and authentic. Sherry explained about the core values of their company and how they focus on the needs of clients, families, and staff to make sure that each client feels special and cared for. Sherry also shared a promotion that was a great hook for my father who had been hesitant about moving. We returned to Hunters Woods the next day with my father and sister and they were as impressed as my mother and I were on our first visit. My parents moved in yesterday and they couldn't be happier! If I lived closer to Reston, I'd be talking to my husband about moving here for ourselves in a few years. I simply can't say enough about Sherry and the other staff we met. Sherry was easily available by phone or email to answer any and all questions and we had a lot of them! She made us feel special during the whole process and never tired of our questions. My parents have felt very well cared for and they are so excited to start engaging in activities. If you are looking for a Senior Center, you must visit Hunters Woods because it will make your decision making process very easy.
