Overview of Professional Staff and Training
Here at Harmony Village Paramus, we have the following staff: Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, Dementia Care Specialist, Certified Medication Aides, Certified Nursing Assistants, Certified Home Health Aides, Dietary Aides, Housekeeping Aides, Laundry Aides. All nursing staff must be state licensed/certified. All staff members go through a thorough dementia care training with Joan (our dementia care specialist) before working on our neighborhoods with our residents.
Safety and Well-being Measures
Harmony Village CareOne Paramus is a secured memory care assisted living facility.
Transition Resources and Support Services
Our dementia care specialist works with our residents and families through the transition into the facility as well as through difficult daily tasks during their stay at the facility.
Transportation Services
We do not offer transportation; however, we can assist the family with scheduling transportation through a third party if needed.
Dining Experience
We are able to manage different dietary needs such as pureed, thickened liquid, low sodium etc. All meals are made fresh on the premises, plated, and served in bistros. Residents are served restaurant style. Residents can choose from two specials, but also have an “everyday menu” to choose from. If the resident has difficulty understanding the menu, we also provide samples if the options for visual cueing.
Resident Complaints and Issues
Any resident complaints are reported to the care partner on the neighborhood and addressed by the nurse on shift.
Cost of Living

Communication with Resident's Families
Our nursing staff as well as Director of Nursing is always in constant communication with family members. Care Plan meetings are scheduled as needed. Monthly wellness checks are completed by our registered nurse.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We do offer respite. $800 per month and $1,000 deposit. 1-month min. and 2-month max. Fee applied to community fee if converted to permanent status. Details also provided on the fee schedule attached.
Pet-Friendly Community
The community is pet friendly. We ask that pet vaccinations be provided prior to visiting.

Harmony Village at CareOne Paramus
Harmony Village is the FIRST assisted living in Bergen County that specializes in the care of those with Dementia and other Memory Impairments. We have “neighborhoods” based on cognitive abilities. Our goal is to have our residents thrive alongside their cognitive peers. We focus so much attention on our resident’s personal strengths and develop personalized programs based on each person’s strengths and past life experiences. Our model of dementia care integrates the individual preferences, life story and cognitive abilities of the person to provide them with “just the right amount” of support at each stage of the disease.
Staff Training and Care
Harmony Village at CareOne Paramus has a comprehensive training program to ensure that all our staff has the necessary tools and education to work with the needs of the Alzheimer’s/Dementia population. We offer 24-hour on-site nursing care under the direct Supervision of a Wellness Director. Our Dementia Specialist works hand in hand with our caregivers providing them with tools to help redirect behaviors and help reduce the use of antipsychotic medications. Our Dementia Specialist adds a level of care, education, and attention that no other assisted living in our area can match. Monthly support groups for our families provide them the tools to continue to have meaningful and enjoyable visits with their loved ones. Harmony Village offers private accommodations for onsite physician visits and other specialty services. We are proud of the top-notch physicians, in various disciplines; we partner with to offer house calls to our residents.

We have 6 neighborhoods – 2 mild, 3 moderate, 1 advanced. Each neighborhood houses 21 residents in 20 apartments-17 private studios, 2 deluxe apartments and 1 shared apartment. All our neighborhoods look identical (to help someone when moving to a neighborhood of higher needs).

We have 24-hour nursing. 3 registered nurses in house (Administrator, Director of Nursing, Dementia Care Specialist).

Recreation and Therapy
Our recreation department bases all our activities, outings, evening programs, birthday celebrations and big events based on cognitive ability.
Harmony Village also offers in house physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Therapy is worked into the day-to-day routines.
