When it became necessary to move my mother to a smaller assisted living with more personal care, my search ended quickly when I found Harmony Residential Care. I had a million questions that were answered with ease. I never got the sales pitch, they helped me like I was already family. Thank you Margaret and Pattie!A residential setting was exactly what my mother needed, and I needed the guidance they provided to help me with difficult decisions. They made moving her very easy! Everything from setting up and ordering her medications and having an excellent doctor who comes to his patients, to helping get her on a better healthcare plan. Her room was furnished beautifully, she always looked well cared for, and the other residents made her feel so welcomed. When my mother needed hospice to help care a few times a week, all I had to do was sign the paperwork. Margaret took care of the rest. My mother's last days were so peaceful, because they have ladies working there 24 hours a day that truly care very deeply, especially Lindsey. My only regret is that I hadn't moved mom there sooner.I can't thank them enough, Karen D.
Harmony Residential Care, Inc. has been a part of my family for over two years. They have the most wonderful team who genuinely care for your loved one. My Grandmother aka Pretty Mama could not be in better hands. They ease the pain by offering comfort and support in passing the baton of care. There are so many emotions when there comes a time when one is unable to continue the proper safe keeping of their loved one and having to change your mindset of, “no one can do it better than yourself.”My Pretty Mama is safe, property fed, medicated, and her hygiene is impeccable. Her room is so homie and welcoming to her taste. My Grammy was a renowned musician and Harmony Residential put a keyboard in her room and printed sheet music. It really touched me in how they get to know their residents and see what they can do to make them happy even with their aliments; they find a way. They go out and find the kindness when it can be hard to find it yourself. Thank you for being the best team a granddaughter could ask for in an unfortunate matter. I could never repay you guys for what you have done for my family. I am forever grateful!
Harmony is a wonderful Residential Care Facility. The facility is three houses which hold about 8 to 10 residents each. There are one person bedrooms and bedrooms that are cut in half, so there will be two people per room. There are three houses, not a 100 people housed in one big building. They are cozy, warm and decorated as you would decorate your home. The meals are home-cooked and so are the snacks! My mother, who is 90 years old lives in one of them. There are always two or more staff on hand. They cook, clean, and take care of all residents. They provide the nursing staff, and calls on medical teams that are needed for each client. My mother has her doctor stop by, her foot nurse who takes care of her feet, and even x-ray technician stop by as needed. For activities there are the TV in every room and in the living room. There are books to read and people that stop by to paint nails, dance, and pray with the clients. The residents and staff takes walks and there are bar-b-ques in the back of the house.Margaret Surrock, the owner, is understanding about the cost of the facility. Margaret can bend the rules a little when the family of the clients have financial hardships. It is such a relief to have someone understand the difficulties of having a loved one in a Living Assistance Facility.Lastly, it feels like home and your loved one is safe and loved.Sincerely,Paula G.
My husband has been at Harmony for six months and I can honestly say that it has been a positive experience for both of us. I visit my husband every week, and I’ve been able to observe the care, meals, etc. I can find no fault with the level of care. My husband is always clean, dressed and seems very comfortable with his room, the other Residents and the staff. The house is always clean, no odors of the kind so often found in these facilities. I’ve observed the staff cleaning when they are not directly involved with the Residents. The place is immaculate. I’m usually visiting around lunchtime; the meals appear to be very tasty and adequate. My husband has no problem with the food.I have to compliment the staff for their caring and communication. If they have a concern, they call me immediately. When I have a question or concern, they answer me promptly. It is a relief to have a doctor on call which saves me from driving an hour to bring my husband to his former physician. When all is said and done, I have only good things to say about Harmony Residential Care. It has made such a difference in my life to see that my husband is so well cared for.Joan L.
My mother is a resident at Harmony House and the staff is professional, caring and always there to answer questions. They're patience with dementia patience is truly amazing and appreciated. The house is clean and so are the residents. I have visited other places where there is an odor, and there is none here.Margaret is marvelous and runs a tight ship. She was instrumental in directing us to apply for Medicaid because of my mother's financial institution.Five stars definitely!!Karen R.
want to write a review of Harmony House Assistive Living in Rio Rancho. My husband and I searched many sites, and visited several facilities before selecting Harmony House for my mother in law. Upon our first visit, we found the home clean, welcoming and the staff responsive to our questions. Doris had lost her appetite at a large independent facility. Harmony’s food is amazing and Doris has gradually put on some needed weight. I can’t say enough about every single staff member. They treat residents with respect, compassion, and patience.Doris has mild to moderate Dementia. Staff exhibit great knowledge of the Geriatric population and the special, individual needs of each resident.I visited last week and came upon Doris straight out of the shower with the caregiver assisting her. Neither saw me. I was amazed at how gentle, and caring she was treating Doris. Her safety was obviously of the utmost importance.Margaret is an RN and sets high standards for the caregivers and it shows every day and with every shift.Doris loves her room which we set up exactly like it was when living with us. The housekeeping and laundry is always perfect. We highly recommend Harmony House, and feel very fortunate to have discovered them.Thank youJ and K Blagg
My company, Decades, often seeks to have clients reside at homes run by Harmony Residential. The homes are well run and we can rely on our clients getting top-notch care. Communication with the staff is easy and we are alerted as soon as there is a healthcare issue or other matter that needs to be resolved.
My Dad has been a resident at Harmony House since September of 2018. He suffers from Alzheimer's but functions physically pretty well. We looked at many new homes for him when my Mom passed away. We called Margaret, she met us the same day! She has accommodated our requests at every turn! Jennifer who is the house supervisor is fabulous! So is Sarah! Actually the CNA's are all great. They prepare home cooked meals three times a day and do their very best to make certain our requests for my Dad are taken care of. I would highly recommend Harmony Residential Care to anyone who needs a safe, caring environment for a loved one.
First, I live thousands of miles away, so to have my sweet Mother (a musician her whole life) under the care of others was a critical decision. Fortunately for me, Margaret had a bed available for her shortly after she needed it. Unfortunately, I was not able to help move her at the time, but the gentle spirit and caring concern took a very difficult situation and turned it into a very positive and wonderful transition. Now, over a year and a half later my Mother is perhaps healthier and happier than she has been in many, many years. I'm not going to sugar coat this, as her previous situation was very sad and she had started spiraling downwards, but with good nutrition and many loving watchful eyes, she has bounced back to a much more energetic and healthy lady. We even had her 90th birthday at her new home last August--fully decorated by the staff, by the way....and she tapped dance for the visitors...well, sort of tapped danced---She did become ill one day, and were it not for Margaret's expertise, she would be tap dancing in heaven. Margaret's split second knowledge got her into the hospital immediately, where I would have thought she had the flu and would have perhaps waited a day or so. Many Thanks, Margaret! If Margaret senses anything is amiss, she corrects it asap! We are blessed to have such a facility like this!
I came to work here in 2018, after experiencing the toxicity of working with people in this industry that are in it for the wrong reason. I have been, and continue to be, amazed at the level of compassion, commitment and care that Margaret has for those who live here and work here. It is a very sad thing when a disgruntled employee who was given every opportunity to succeed and didn't, decides to strike out on social media in a manner that is mean-spirited and without merit.
This place is ridiculous it isn't an assisted living home it's a nursing home and the turn over rate is a shame the management sucks there's nothing but Indians working here not that I'm prejudice but they are all family. The residence are left alone and one of them walked out and was a few blocks down the road (he's 90? How fast can he walk?) Anyway think about it before you take a family member there please!!!!!
The care my stepfather received at Harmony House was first rate from the start! Margaret, Vicki, Mary and the rest of the staff made the transition from my stepfather's hospital bed to his new home smooth and warmly welcoming. The home was spotless at each of my visits. I was most impressed with the friendly, honest, caring and patient staff, often during trying circumstances. I never had to worry about my stepfather's well-being, knowing he was looked after by the most professional staff I've encountered in dealing with assisted living facilities. Harmony House has my highest recommendation!
My Grandmother was cared for by the wonderful staff at Harmony Residential for just over two years. From day one, I felt good about the quality of her care and that made it easier to leave at the end of my visits. I will be forever grateful for Margaret, her kindness is more than words express.
I can't make enough positive comments about the management, staff and facilities. My mom was in a large professional care and we felt like there was less and less time and care given to her. At Harmony House it was like a home and everyone was family. The meals are homemade and customized to each person. Everyone helps each other out and there is always someone near. Thanks for all you do.
