The majority of employees found the residents to be the best part of the job, as they become like family. However, there is a higher turnover rate for staff, and people tend to treat you better if you are in a position that does not require a uniform. Employees also noted that there is good teamwork and organized management, but scheduling can be difficult with few staff to fill in. Advice to management includes improving employee relations, updating policies and leadership, and allowing employees to try out different positions.

The staff have gone out of their way to make this home for our mom. They've helped engage her but now on lockdown due to Coronavirus, the keep us updated and provide full care for her. They're making sure she has all she needs and keep us informed as well. We love having her there and are so thankful for them.
I am a current employee at grand Living at lake Lorraine. I have worked in senior living for the last 16 years and feel so fortunate to call this community my work family. The staff are wonderful, the environment is positive, and we are treated with respect. I am so thankful to be apart of this team.
My Mom has been telling me that their food has been going downhill since their Chef left Tonite her Thanksgiving night meal was delivered after calling down to the desk at 5:30 because it hadn’t been delivered. Can’t believe the poor quality of the food, and sent without a beverage, salty, fatty ham sandwich on dry croissant, salty potato chips , pre packaged peanut butter cookie & small wrapped piece of candy. Also a very bruised orange or grapefruit ( couldn’t tell) I’m very disappointed as when we came to visit Grand Living prior to my mom moving in, we were served an absolutely wonderful meal My mom has been complaining for awhile but I didn’t really get the picture until now
Thank goodness for Grand Living! My mom moved July of 2019. At the time, my sisters and I had no clue that we, and especially she, would be living a life dominated by Covid, and all of us, including my mom, are so thankful she made the move there!The lock downs havent been fun for anyone, especially for our elderly folks, I think the staff, with the principals guiding Grand Living, did as best as they could do, and sometimes even better, given the Covid situation. They took every opportunity to support their residents as much as was humanly possible within the constraints of Covid and CDC guidelines.Thank you Grand Living
My grandparents resided here for nearly two years. My grandma recently passed and Grand Living was so helpful to my grandpa and my family during that difficult time. My grandpa still resides at Grand Living and receives what I believe to be the best services I have ever seen in senior living. After learning how wonderful of a place Grand Living is to reside in, I decided to try working at Grand Living - it is just as great to work at Grand Living as it is to live at Grand Living. I would 100% recommend.
I have been with Grand Living at Lake Lorraine since Dec 2016 - before we opened in March 2017. I love working in such a beautiful building with great co workers whose focus is always what is best for our residents. Its a pleasure to serve all of our residents family, friends and guest.
I only worked here for 10 months and enjoyed my time here. The residents were nice and the staff was friendly. The community was very beautiful and the staff were great to the residents. I would have stayed if it wasn’t for how one of the supervisors treated me and my peers. Other than that it is one of the better communities in Sioux Falls.
It is a beautiful facility, but you pay for the "grandness". The price isn't my major concern about the facility though. The thing that my parent and I find worrisome is the tremendously high turnover of staff. And I'm not just referring to hourly workers. There have been a number of administrative level positions which have had multiple people on the job over the last year. The owners must not like consistency in their staff because they let people go on nearly a continual basis.
