Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
We do have a waitlist for Assisted Living, and in our Independent Living we have limited availability.
Could you share pricing and any other general information?
I have attached our brochure information that includes pricing, as well as pictures of our community!
Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
Glenbrooke prides itself on the longevity of our staff, we have employees and residents who have been here since we opened 20 years ago! In our assisted living we have a highly trained staff of med techs and CNA's who are supervised by our Director of Nursing Kim who is a licensed practical nurse. Gina our Executive Director has worked at Glenbrooke for 9 years now and has been in the Senior Living Industry for 25 years!
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
The safety of our residents is our top priority, in our Assisted Living we complete wellness checks as often as needed. Our medication carts are locked 24/7, the front doors are locked at 9pm, there is round-the-clock care staff, and there is always a concierge on duty day and night to assist when needed. They also have a pendant and pull cord system in their room that goes to the care staff's pagers and the concierge to ensure the quickest response.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
Absolutely, once you and your loved one place the one-time community fee to reserve your spot our Move-in Coordinator Paige will be there to guide you through the process of what is needed and the lease you and your loved one will sign. She will ensure there are no questions and assist in having an assessment completed by our Director of Nursing Kim if needed as well as scheduling a day and time to sign the lease. During you and your loved one's lease signing, Paige and our Executive Director Gina will take you through the lease and paperwork step by step to ensure you and your loved one understand the information and that you have no questions.
Paige will then coordinate the day and time you and your loved one would like to begin moving into their new home. On the day of moving, our staff will welcome your loved one with open arms and ensure a smooth transition. Paige will stay with your loved one for their first three days to ensure they are not having any issues and settling in with their new community. Our wonderful activities team will then take over and introduce themselves. They will get to know your loved one and gain an understanding of the activities that will fit your loved one best and encourage them to participate. Our residents will also introduce themselves and welcome your loved one to our wonderful community.
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
Yes! We offer transportation for personal, professional, and medical appointments. We have a limit of 10 miles from the community and there are certain days that we go to Melbourne and Palm Bay. We also have transportation for outings available, our residents love going to the Melbourne mall and the free Melbourne Municipal Concerts!
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
Our Culinary Director John has worked at Glenbrooke for 15 years and has a wonderful team in our kitchen. We have All Day Dining in our beautiful dining room where residents can go early or later for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! We also have restaurant style dining with servers that take our residents' orders and bring their food to them. There is a specialty menu with three courses that changes every day with two different entrees and different sides available. Additionally, we also have a menu that remains the same for the residents to order off of if they prefer.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
If there is a concern or complaint, we want to know so we can address and resolve it! We host a monthly resident council meeting for residents to bring suggestions or concerns to our team of directors' attention. Residents can also go to the concierge and receive assistance. We send out annual surveys to receive feedback on what we can do to improve and keep our residents happy in their home. Residents or families can also schedule a meeting with our Executive Director if needed.
What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
In the case your loved has an emergency or needs to be seen, we will call 911 and notify the emergency contacts listed.
In the case of a normal day, the resident's loved ones are always welcome to call and check in on their loved ones. Or visit any time as we do not have posted visitor hours!
If we notice your loved one needs more assistance, we will call to schedule a meeting and notify the family. We will work to find the best way to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your loved one.
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
We do not offer short-term or respite stays, however our lease is on a month-to-month basis. We just require a 30-day written notice if you or your loved one decides to end the lease.
Are you all a pet-friendly community?
Yes, we understand that your furry friend is family! We just require a $250 non-refundable deposit and the vaccine paperwork for them to come along. There is no monthly pet rent!
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
Our wonderful activities team occasionally schedules for Covid and Flu vaccinations to be administered in the community. We can also transport our residents to a local store that provides the vaccinations as well.
Are residents able to age in place?
We offer Independent Living for our residents to enjoy, we also have assisted living available for residents to transition into if they come to a point where they need more assistance. Residents who are transitioning to assisted living simply move to our second or third floor in our main building to continue enjoying their life with assistance available when needed.
