Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
Yes, we have about 25 people on our waitlist. Some are waiting for a particular apartment, but others have just taken a first step in the move-in process. They aren’t quite ready for various reasons, but appreciate being kept in the loop on our availability and events. Our $500 waitlist deposit is fully refundable if one does not move in. Upon move-in, the deposit is applied to our residency fee.
Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
We employ nearly 70 staff people of varying backgrounds and training/education. Some of our administrative team has college degrees and others, such as our resident assistants, hold CNA or HCA certifications. We’re proud to give many high-school age students an opportunity to have their first job as a server in our restaurant. Our general manager, Jamie Bravato, has worked at Fairwinds Spokane for 16 years and has been our GM for 7 years. Personally, I’ve worked in sales and marketing at Fairwinds Spokane for 12.5 years. All our staff are background checked and CPR and First Aid certified.
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
We have two safety checks each day for our independent living residents and our assisted living residents are visited once a day or more by our resident assistants. We have an emergency call system and fire suppression systems. We employ a security company, and again, all our staff are background checked.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
Our sales and marketing and guest services teams give special attention to our new residents by ensuring they are acclimated with our people and our services and amenities. In addition, our Resident Council has a Welcoming Committee who goes out of their way to make new residents feel welcome.
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
Our transportation services is probably the most comprehensive in all of Spokane. We operate a shuttle and offer town car service for hire. See the attached document.
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
Our offerings are extensive! We have a full service restaurant and Bistro/bar. You’ll find more information in our brochure, and we encourage you to come in to try a meal in our restaurant or a specialty latte from our bistro.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
Residents are encouraged to voice concerns and provide feedback to our department heads or general manager. We are in the customer service and hospitality business and aim to ensure resident satisfaction. In fact, we achieve high marks on our Resident Satisfaction Surveys, DSHS audits, and were awarded US News and World Report’s Best of Senior Living designation.
What is the cost of living in your community?
Monthly rental rates start at about $4000 a month. Assisted living charges are added in addition to the rent if needed. See our attached brochure.
What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
We send regular email communication, offer snapshots of our daily activities on our Facebook page and host family events through out the year. Families are welcome to call anytime to speak to a department head or our general manager.
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
Short term trial stays are encouraged and are complimentary! We’re happy to set up an individualized staycation to allow people to experience our community. We typically do no not offer respite stays.
Are you all a pet-friendly community?
Dogs, cats, even birds are welcomed! We even offer dog-walking services, litter box changes and trips to the groomer.
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
We were one of the very first communities in town to offer COVID vaccination clinics onsite. We offer flu shot clinics every year.
Are residents able to age in place?
Absolutely! We are one of the few communities in town that has a floating license for assisted living services. This means residents do no have to move from their current apartment when they need more support. We bring the care to them!
Ever wanted to live in your favorite five-star resort?
Have delicious meals prepared by a professional chef, a full-time concierge at your beck and call, a town car available for your use, fun activities going on around you all the time, and even have your own personal fitness trainer?
