Welcome to Elder Ashram
Elder Ashram is a senior living community with an aspiration to shift our attitude towards elders and eldercare. Following millennia-old wisdom traditions, Elder Ashram views our aging as a process of continued deepening, as an inward or soul journey. Along with these wisdom traditions, Elder Ashram emphasizes that it is our later years that offer us true depth – if we choose to see it this way. Along with the choice to embark on our soul journey, we need support and encouragement along the way. Most importantly, we need a community of people amidst whom we live, grow, and receive support. Elder Ashram would like to offer such a supportive community and environment.
Our Programs
As elders shift from role to soul, we would like to offer programs to inspire and help elders continue their learning and deepening. Programs such as Prana, Seva, and Dinacharya, are all meant to foster a feeling of community and creative expression. These programs try to emphasize agency, the human need to have meaning and purpose, to continue to feel needed and valued, and to give back to others.
Therapeutic Approach to Care
Additionally, in providing a space where elders can deepen their inward journey and receive support for their ongoing growth and unfolding, Elder Ashram has established a therapeutic approach to care. Such an approach – besides providing basic physical care – desires to deepen our awareness of our unity or interconnectedness with all. It does so by offering an environment of simplicity and calm so that we can connect with our inner center and spiritual nature. A simple environment helps us not to be distracted and to thus keep our focus on what matters most: our soulful selves.
Join Our Journey
Elder Ashram is a continued work in progress. As we walk our path, we learn and grow ourselves. We need the support of everyone if we are to make this attitudinal shift that views our aging as sage-ing and understands our lives as journeys of the soul. Therefore, we would like to invite you to visit us and give us your impressions and thoughts. This will allow us to continue to develop and refine Elder Ashram to become an even more soulful space for those in the second half of life.

We feel it is time to open a dialogue about our essential nature, a dialogue that helps foster a long view of life. The soul does not know age. Through aging, we become the person we truly are, and have always been. Aging uncovers the many layers and masks we often carry throughout our lives.
