1. Staff and Directors
We have a range of Employees. There are CNAs, Resource Aids, Kitchen Staff, Activities Staff, Maintenance, and Housekeeping. When it comes to the Directors, we have our Executive Director, Director of Nursing, Care Coordinator, Memory Care Director, and I handle admissions. (Huntlie Mower)
We have an all-staff meeting each month to go over training, policies, and procedures. Each department also does individual training for their employees.
2. Safety and Security
We have cameras throughout the hallways of our community for the safety of our residents. Each staff member undergoes CPR training/Heimlich Maneuver training. Our Memory Care is a secured area (Locked) so that the residents who wander are safe. Every resident signs in and out as they leave the building and all visitors do as well. Our Care Coordinator handles all care and communicates with the family if there needs to be a change of care. Our Activity Staff makes sure there are multiple activities throughout the day to increase the social well-being of each resident.
3. New Resident Orientation
When it comes to moving into the Community, in the first few weeks we have our staff come to take the new residents to meals so they can get a handle on the routine. I also show them around and do a "New Move-In Orientation".
4. Transportation Services
On Tuesdays and Thursdays we drive Residents to Doctors Appointments. Our Activities Director also takes residents to the store so they can purchase their needed items.
5. Dining Experience
Our Dining room is Waiter/Waitress lead. The residents can sit wherever they like each day. A waiter will take their order, and then bring the food out to them.
6. Resident Council
Each month there is a "Resident Council" Only residents are invited and it is a safe place for them to air out any suggestions or concerns. The Resident President then takes those concerns to our Executive Director where together, they find solutions.
7. Pricing and Apartment Details
The Pricing Sheet I attached above broke down our costs. Residents are in charge of purchasing any bathroom toiletries, toilet paper, briefs, and wipes. A lot of residents like to buy additional snacks on shopping trips as well. Our Apartments have a Kitchenette, a microwave, fridge, and freezer included, but other than that, the family needs to provide all furniture for the apartment.
8. Communication with Power of Attorney
We call the Power Of Attorney if there are any big changes families need to be aware of. (If there is a fall, or they need to add care for the residents)
9. Lease Agreement and Respite Care
Our Leases ask for a 30-day notice if the resident is to move out. With that said, we don't do respite care for short amounts of time.
10. Pet Policy and Apartment Availability
Our Pet Policy is that the pet has to be under 20 lbs, be up to date with its immunizations, and have good behavior. It is a case-by-case situation. If the owner can take care of the pet, there's a 1 time $600 Pet Deposit. If the resident needs us to take it out on walks, there's the deposit and a $300 monthly rate.
We have 2 Studio Apartments on Assisted Living Available. Our Memory Care, 1 Bedroom Apartment, and 2 Bedroom Apartments are all on a waiting list.
