DO NOT ALLOW YOUR LOVED ONE TO BE PLACED AT COUNTRY VILLA EAST!  They deserve zero stars. On December 14th, 2020 I kissed my husband and watched as they rolled him into surgery at a different surgical hospital. That was the last time I saw him.  He under went extensive robotic esophageal surgery to rebuild his esophagus due to cancer. According to the medical team he came through the surgery with flying colors and he told me that he was feeling good while under the care of the original surgical hospital. Due to COVID reasons they were going have to send him home directly from their IC unit.  I was diagnosed with COVID so he couldn't come home and I couldn't see him. We looked for someplace to place him and COUNTRY VILLA EAST was the only facility willing to receive him. (To this day I'm still confused at the reasoning behind this). He was transferred to COUNTRY VILLA EAST on December 24th. I was given the impression that this was a COVID-19 free facility as per my request. After they transferred my husband there, the phone was the only connection I had to him but trying to connect with him at COUNTRY VILLA EAST was almost impossible. Our personal physician had great trouble in connecting with him or them also.  Prior to his death, my husband explained that their room phone was turned off; he couldn't receive any direct calls so he had to call me and most times he was very weak to access a phone (patients evidently had to share a phone). He was unable to get out of bed without assistance. I had no way of getting his cell phone to him as we live in the San Bernardino county and my husband was located in West L. A. On January 2, 2021 my husband died at this facility.  Prior to his death in our conversations he complained about the type of care he was receiving and he complained that he wasn't being fed properly. What breaks my heart is I couldn't bring him home. From the time I received the call to inform me that he had just "Code Blue" (I heard as they tried to revive him) to present I have been treated by them with absolute disinterest. Trying to talk to someone there is like pulling teeth. They put you on hold and you end up getting disconnected. I've left messages and never received a returned call from them. I tried getting them to send his personal belongings to me. They refused for various reasons. I contacted the state ombudsman and I finally received a box of some of  items from COUNTRY VILLA EAST after a two month struggle with them.  The items in the box did not belong to him and they smelled horrible! I dropped my husband off at the surgical hospital wearing brand new clothing we had purchased for him to wear (Wrangler Jeans, new T-shirt and new zip up fleece jacket, etc); in the box was a pair of smelly jogging shorts and a very thin top with no sleeves.  If I had read the previous reviews, I would have never placed my husband at this facility. I totally agree with one of the previous reviewers...how does this place remain open?! `NOTE: After his death, I listened to my husband's voicemail while closing his wireless account and on December 31st, a message was left on HIS CELL by a COUNTRY VILLA EAST staff member indicating that  "he had been exposed to COVID-19 in the area he is residing". I and his doctor were never informed by them directly of this while he was alive. I also learned in filing a complaint with the state against COUNTRY VILLA EAST everything was based on their medical records. That is why they're never closed.

Country Villa East took care of both my mother and my aunt until they passed away. The staff was SO CARING and thoughtful. It was always clean, meals were hot and healthy and the therapists and medical staff were great! I am grateful for all that they did to make their last days comfortable.

My mother was at California Hospital and this was one of the facilities suggested for my mom.  I called and the phone rang and rang and rang.  No answer and no voice prompt.  After two days of calling, I decided to stop by and I was greeted with a rude person at the entrance.  Here is her welcome speech.  Hi, what do you need?  Me:  I want to know if I can take a tour or speak to some one regarding my mother coming to this facility.  CVE person: Well, everyone has gone home and you need to come back tomorrow instead.  Me: I have been calling to schedule with someone, does the phone get picked up by an operator.  CVE: Yes, it does, when it rings and if you called we would have to told you to come earlier. Me: like I mentioned, I tried calling.  CVE: Well, obviously you didn't or you wouldn't be here now.  Really,  I wouldn't put my mother here even if it was FREE.  First impressions are everything.  So, I will go with my gut feeling.  I don't know what her position is at CVE but man, her attitude and her rudeness was pathetic. Don't send anyone here EVER. I made sure to let the case worker at California Hospital know and asked her how can she recommend this place a a placement for patients needing extra rehab for hip fracture.

Honestly, I wouldn't board an enemy's pet at this place. I've been doing case management for someone who was admitted here. In my time working with him, 1) the front desk phone often rings and rings, without being answered, 2) calls are never, EVER -- not once -- returned by staff, 3) Reuben, the head social worker, is apparently too busy talk to anyone, because I have asked to speak to him three times by phone and once in person and he has never been available, 4) They were asked to fax my client's medical history to a potential new care facility. That hasn't happened, despite repeated requests.5) MY CLIENT TOLD ME, "PLEASE GET ME OUT OF THIS HELLHOLE."*mic drop*I can't believe they haven't been shut down. Please don't send people here to get better. From my estimation, this is just a place people go to die.

I did a pop up of the facility about a week ago and I must say I was very impressed.   I'm trying to make a decision as to where I want my grandmother to reside.  The place is very clean and the staff was great, very knowledgable, and also friendly.  I've visited other facilities and I have to say Country Villa East by far was one of the best.  Looks like we will probably choose this facility.   Hopefully there is a slot available.

My father was woken up and given an injection. It turned out to be a vaccine to which he never agreed to and did not give his consent. Director of Nursing tried to tell me that my father was confused and received a TB test and the vaccine was never ordered for him. The administrator told me that my dad probably gave a verbal consent. My dad does not speak English and translator was never utilized by the medical staff. I asked for the Medical Director to give me a call. Nobody ever called me to explain the incident. The reason why I left it a 2-star and not a 1-star is because there are physical therapists there who take good care of my dad. He ended up there after a hip replacement surgery and they work with my dad on a daily basis to make sure he can walk again.

This facility administered vaccines to residents without their consent. My family member refused the vaccine and it was given against his will. After I get the medical records, we will sue the facility. The resident doesn't speak English and the resident did not have a translator. The resident never consented to the vaccine.

My mom was given an attitude by a nurse for her complaining regarding it! Its not a very organized facility. You need to check up on your parents! Cuz they wont do a good job. The staff are very caring, friendly, responsive to patient's needs and accomodating to visitors, as well. They have physical, occupational and speech therapists. The inside of tbis building is very soothing. Temperature setting is always right when i go there. This place does not smell bad like in other nursing homes. Parking is a bit of challenge here.
