I have worked at Chesterfield Heights for 2 1/2 years. It has been a pleasure and an honor to serve the community and residents. The company has been very good to us and we have enjoyed our experiences here. The residents are like family to us and the crew working here is top notch. We highly recommend this company and this community.
I toured the community. It is warm and welcoming and the people are very friendly. I watched an activity, horseracing, which was great since the Kentucky Derby is this weekend. The residents were really enjoying themselves. Looked at several apartments. love the balconies and the rooms have such lovely views. Overall a great visit and I would highly recommend.
When my father moved to VA several years ago, we looked at a variety of places before he chose Chesterfield Heights as his new home. it was a great decision!! The resident community and the 2 resident manager couples became his extended family. The staff were always gracious to him and helpful to us as we navigated the last chapter of his life. We will always be grateful we chose Chesterfield Heights.
They don’t care about staff or residents. They make these grand promises to residents when they come in for a tour and never make good on them. It’s only about the money. Also, the food is not worth the money that the residents pay to live there. While it is by no means the worst food around, it is certainly not the best and it’s hard to believe that many years ago this particular community was known for having great food and family and friends loved to come eat with residents. As for the staff, it is a shame that the staff that worked there many years ago are gone because they loved the residents and the residents loved them! Unfortunately, the staff that was the sharpest was run out by poor management.
My dream job! Full disclosure~ I am 'suppose to be' the Community Sales Leader. I say it that way because Chesterfield Heights has such a wonderful reputation that people in the community want to come here. I will set up the visits BUT it is really the residents that do all of the selling. (And the food!)From my first interview, it was made clear to me that Hawthorn's main purpose is to the Love of the Residents and for those that are looking for a new home. And I get to live it everyday. The heart is not just a logo~ it is a reminder to me every time I see one that my real job is to just love people
My mom became a resident in October of 2019, and we immediately fell in love with the place and the staff. Teresa, Patty, Jeff, Donnie and pretty much the entire staff are amazing. They really took care of our mom during her time there. Unfortunately, with COVID hitting and the isolation, we decided to move my mom to NY to live with me. As excited as she was about moving in with me, she was very emotional about leaving Chesterfield Heights and all of the people there. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything :)
I have been working at Chesterfield Heights for 10 years. I started as a full time housekeeper and server and was promoted as a request from my managers in 2018 to the Activity Director position. I absolutely love working here. I enjoy my job and the joy I get to bring to my residents each and every day. Some of the events and activities that I enjoy planning are our senior proms, having holiday tea at the Jefferson Hotel, outings to museums and horse farms, and playing a game we call horse racing. I wouldn't want to work anywhere else. This is my forever job. I have included several photos with this review so you can see some of the fun activities our residents participate in. Stop by and see us some time.
My husband and I moved here in July. We were immediately made welcome by Patty and Jeff. Patty includes newcomers in games and activities so it just feels right! Patty is a burst of sunshine, even on a rainy day! Jeff is very knowledgeable and will help answer any questions you have. Our new assistant mangers have just arrived so we don’t know them as well, but they always have a smile and will offer a helping hand! Amara does a great job as our activities directory and is very sweet!
I have been coming here since 2017 to provide physical therapy to some of the residents. I have seen many assisted and independent living facilities in this area and Chesterfield Heights is the nicest. The halls and common areas are decorated nicely and brightly lit, the staff is always very friendly and helpful and the activities are kept interesting and are well attended. I have recommended it to several of my patients who are looking to move from their single family homes to independent living.
My aunt moved in as of January 2019. From the very start, she was welcomed as part of the community and has made several friends that have become an important part of her life. The complex is very cozy and welcoming and her apartment feels like home. The managers and staff are all extremely pleasant, positive, helpful, caring, encouraging, and having them right on-site at all times gives me a sense of ease and security for her safety. The activities are fun, the meals are great, the staff is accommodating, and the amenities, such as transportation, make it a great place to live for any retiree.
My father ,Jack, loves Chesterfield Heights. They truly care about their residents. The food is very good and the deserts are great. The management watches over the residents that might be on the edge of independent living and calls me when I should be concerned about something. The housekeeping staff become more like friends and are fantastic with my father. Chesterfield Heights is worth every penny.
