As TCU's go, Cerenity is impressive! My mother-in-law came here after a few days in St. Joe's hospital. So far my wife and I really like this place. The staff are very friendly and professional. The facilities are very clean and don't have any odd smells common to other such facilities. I also like the size of the rooms. Very spacious. There's all kinds of daily activities for residents to participate in, so boredom is a choice here. There's also a small chapel, and a charming bird enclosure. **PROTIP** Use the whiteboard to list any important facts about your loved one. My mother-in-law, for example, has very acute hearing. I wrote that on the board, and the employees knew they didn't need to yell to be heard. Sometimes it's the little things...
This place is the bottom of the earth to me. My mom was brought here upon recommendation. Reading reviews I was skeptical. She stayed one month in the facility and conditions are bleak at best. I discussed billing and private pay. I’m sure as most know in these situations sometimes you need court orders to obtain info on loved ones if they haven’t properly planned. After it’s all said and done I got one letter to my address stating she was being sued after 3 months I would highly recommended White Pines Senior care of Mendoza heights. Great people! I would also like to point out if you do any research these 5 star reviews of Cerenity come from employees! nothing like rooting your own horn!
Another thing I'd like to add is that the Social Worker/Management is very poor. I kept asking if I was covered by insurance. If I wasn't I was leaving. They assured me I was fine and kept changing my discharge date. Then I get a bill in the mail for 14,500.00!? Who has $14,500.00 at their disposal? Really?!
This is one out of 3 TCU' s I was at in two years in the Twin cities metro area. The OT and PT were good. The rooms were cleaned/mopped daily. The food in here was terrible! I mean Campbell's soup, really?? I couldn't eat a lot of the menu items as they were fatty or greasy!! One night we had sweet and sour pork that looked like Dog food from a can!! It really makes me sad that these are potentially the places others and I will end up in some day....
Cerenity Transitional Care Center is awful. Do not trust them with your loved ones lives. This place is horrible in any aspect. They don't have doctors available. The nurses are not good. The beds are very old. They really need to shut this place down and clean and renew everything and hire qualified staff. This place is not sanitary.
Management really doesn't care about the kind of care the residents get. It's all about what is legal and saving a buck. I worked on memory care. In the 2 months prior to leaving at least 4 resident's died from complications from falls!!! We worked so short that no one had time to really do anything besides the bare essentials. All staff were very good to all residents. This place SHOULD be fined and closed down.
