Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
Yes, we have a waitlist for our memory care community. We do not have a waitlist for our assisted living apartments.
Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
We have RNs, LPNs, Med Techs (CMTs), Nursing aides (CNAs), and resident assistants (RAs). We all undergo ongoing, continuing education through online classes paid for and provided to staff - they focus on dementia related behaviors, proper care techniques, emergency response, chemical hazard training and a lot more.
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
All of our residents wear pendants in assisted living and they press them for any need (big or small). In addition, we develop care plans for all our residents. Part of the care plan for some high risk residents may include hourly check-ins for fall risks, bathroom assistance or other needs.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
Yes, we have resident ambassadors who provide peer-to-peer introductions and invitations to join for lunch and activities. In addition, our activity director plays a big role in introducing the new resident to all that Cedarhurst offers. Our dining director will meet with the resident to learn more about meal preferences. And our nursing team and executive director also play a big role in a smooth transition from a care and operational perspective.
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
Yes, we have complimentary car and shuttle service for residents that need to get to doctor appointments. Our shuttle has wheelchair accessibility. We also go on excursions such as the Botanical Garden, The STL Aquarium, boating trips on Mark Twain Lake and even Cardinals baseball games. The casino trips are popular too.
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
The "Crafted by Cedarhurst" dining program offers meals made fresh to order from a menu full of choices. We have anytime dining between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. so residents can come for a meal anytime during those hours. We have a wait staff that takes the orders and we have specials of the day for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. We also have a premium ice cream club for all of our residents. This is all included.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
We have a monthly resident council meeting every month and our executive director, who is also an RN BSN, has an open door policy for complaints to be heard and addressed.
What is the cost of living in your community?
Assisted living starts at $4,650 plus care and memory care starts at $5,850.
What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
Our nursing team and executive director are available by mobile phone and email so anytime you have a need to reach out, they will respond. We have care plan meetings as well to talk with family about their loved one's changing needs.
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
Respite stays are $225/day for assisted living and $325/day for memory care.
Are you all a pet-friendly community?
Yes, we are pet friendly! There is a pet deposit of $750 and a monthly charge of $75.
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
Yes, we have covid and flu clinics that are scheduled ahead of time.
Are residents able to age in place?
