  • Exclusive Interview Insights

Our team personally reached out and conducted an insightful interview with this community on Nov. 9, 2023. Here's what we learned:

The Greens at Viemont Senior Living Community Overview

The Greens at Viemont is a senior living community located at 220 13th Avenue, Place Northwest, Hickory, North Carolina. This facility offers a range of care options including short-term rehab, long-term care, and respite care. It is fully staffed with nurses, nursing assistants, therapists (physical, occupational, speech, respiratory), physicians, nurse practitioners, dietary staff, and activities coordinators.

    Pet Policy

Pets are allowed to visit residents but cannot reside permanently within the facility. Visiting pets must not be of an aggressive breed and must have up-to-date vaccination records and rabies tags.

    Transportation Services

The Greens at Viemont provides transportation for residents to doctor's appointments. While the facility transportation is mainly for medical appointments, assistance with transportation for personal errands can be arranged, but it is not part of the standard facility transport services.

    Move-In Assistance

While the facility does not offer staff or movers to assist with moving in, they do help residents with their belongings once they arrive at the facility. Most residents are short-term and typically come from the hospital with only their basic belongings.

    Dining Services

Residents are provided with three meals a day and snacks. There are dining rooms available, and the type of diet provided is based on physician orders, which can include low-calorie, low-sodium, cardiac diets, etc. Menus are available for residents to choose from each week, with modifications made according to each resident's dietary needs.

    Staff and Services

The community is fully staffed with a comprehensive team of healthcare and support professionals to cater to the needs of the residents.

    Safety and Security

Residents have access to call buttons or pendants for emergencies. The facility is secured with coded locks, and there are regular checks on residents by the nursing staff, typically every two hours or more frequently depending on the resident's needs.

    Communication with Families

The facility communicates with residents' families if there is an update or issue concerning the resident. Multiple responsible parties are usually listed for each resident to ensure effective communication.

    Resident Complaints and Council

Residents can file grievances through forms provided by the facility. There is also an open-door policy for direct communication. Additionally, there is a resident council where residents can bring up topics as a group.

    Waitlist Information

The Greens at Viemont maintains a waitlist for potential residents, which is subject to change as circumstances such as care level requirements and personal decisions fluctuate. The waitlist for short-term rehab tends to move quicker than that for long-term care.
