Our team includes 7 nurses, with our Executive Director being a RN. We have many other dedicated employees, with many of our medical staff having years of experience. All employees undergo monthly service training to ensure the highest quality of care.
Safety and Well-being Measures
For safety, we have pull cords in Assisted Living rooms and hallways, and AL residents can opt for a bracelet medical alert device. Independent residents often acquire their own medical alert devices. Our Enhanced Care and Memory Care units are secured with locked doors, and we have staff available 24/7.
Resources and Support Services
Independent residents enjoy daily activities, with an activity coordinator available at the front desk. We offer exercise and social activities, weekly housekeeping, and daily breakfast. Assisted living residents receive a personalized care plan, with additional fees based on their needs. We also provide recommendations for moving companies to aid in the transition into our community.
Transportation Services
Our van transportation prioritizes medical appointments but can also accommodate other appointments in Pullman, WA, or Moscow, ID, based on availability.
Dining Experience
Our dining room serves Independent and Assisted Living residents restaurant-style meals, with breakfast, dinner, and supper available. Meals are included for Assisted Living and Enhanced/Memory Care residents, with breakfast included for Independent Living residents. Enhanced/Memory Care has its own community dining rooms to cater to specific dietary needs.
Addressing Complaints and Issues
Our Assistant Executive Director and Executive Director are readily available next to the front desk to resolve any issues or complaints.
Communication with Families
Independent residents provide emergency contact information, while Assisted Living and Enhanced/Memory Care residents provide POA information to the Director of Nursing. We involve residents and families in care planning and adhere strictly to HIPAA laws for privacy.
Keeping Families Updated
Updates on residents' well-being can be arranged through the care plan with the Director of Nursing.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We offer short-term or respite stays at $275 per day with a minimum of a 30-day stay.
Pet Policy
We are a pet-friendly community with a $500 pet deposit. Independent residents must be able to care for their pets, with potential additional fees in Assisted Living and Enhanced Care for pet assistance.
Vaccinations
Residents can receive Covid and flu vaccinations within the community, typically administered by a local pharmacy in the fall, or arranged by our staff at other times.
Aging in Place
Residents can age in place, transitioning from Independent to Assisted Living, and if needed, to Enhanced or Memory Care without a transition fee. However, moving personal items requires hiring a mover at the resident's or family's expense. We currently have a waitlist for independent living but availability in assisted living and enhanced/memory care.
Bishop Place Living Options
Bishop Place strives to provide home-like living. Neighbors are encouraged to decorate their apartments to their liking. We have many activities to become involved in or are always happy to come up with new ones based on requests and suggestions. Our nursing team keeps in constant contact with family members and doctors to ensure the best care for our neighbors. We offer two care levels, Assisted Living and Enhanced Care.
Independent Living
Independent Living neighbors find private apartments, housekeeping staff, meal options and a variety of social activities. The apartments have emergency call cords that reach our Assisted Living staff 24 hours day/7 days a week. Breakfast is included in monthly rent; lunch and dinner monthly meal plans can be purchased. Independent Living offers a pool and fitness room. In Independent Living, Bishop Place is not licensed to provide any type of care to our neighbors. Things like reminders for taking medication, help with getting dressed or taking a shower can be handled by hiring a private care giver. Independent Living is a great solution for those who are still able to do most daily tasks by themselves, but need a safe place to live with a little oversight.
Assisted Living
Assisted Living neighbors also find private apartments, attentive staff, along with a range of personal support services. We tailor a care plan to fit each individual’s needs. Nurses are on-site for 16 hours a day, seven days a week. Caregivers are on-site for 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Due to our high nurse staff/care staff ratio we can offer a ton of care to neighbors. From simple things like helping get dressed to a 2 person transfers, medication distribution, escorting services and so much more. We have people with memory loss in Assisted Living. As long as they are not at risk for wandering away and becoming lost, they are fine to live here. Once they become a wander risk, we encourage Enhanced Care.
Enhanced Care
Neighbors who live in Enhanced Care need a higher level of care and constant supervision not permissible in assisted living. It is a step in between assisted living and skilled nursing homes. Residents who are at risk for the following tend to be candidates for Enhanced Care: wandering, combative behavior, extreme falling. At this point we assume those folks are full care and have set up a type of all-inclusive pricing (Peace of Mind Pricing). Enhanced Care has bedrooms that border the common areas of a dining room and living room. Our care staff are easily accessible at any time and have eye sight on our neighbors 24 hours a day. A nurse is also staffed 16 hours a day in Enhanced Care.
Pricing
Pricing is always a consideration in these decisions. Independent Living has options of a 1-bedroom apartment or 2-bedroom apartment. Our apartments are on a month-to-month rental basis. In Independent Living the 1-bedroom apartment start at $3,055 and the 2-bedroom apartments start at $3,365. Assisted Living has options of a 1-bedroom apartment or studio apartment. Studios start at $4,870/month and 1 bedroom $5,425/month. Plus, cost for personal support services. Amenities included with monthly rent are: 3 meals a day (except Independent Living which includes breakfast only), maintenance, housekeeping, laundry (excluding Independent Living-washer/dryer in each apartment), utilities (except phone/internet), basic cable TV, transportation, activities and the pool! Enhanced Care as I said above is a set price to include all amenities and care. Although there are a few items we charge additionally for, and can cross the bridge when and if the time comes. Enhanced Care private rooms are $8,740/month and shared are $8,100/month. Bishop Place has a 1-time Administrative Fee of $1500.
