Overview of Staff and Training
Currently we have PSS and CNAs providing care to our residents. We have CRMAs (med techs) administering all medications daily to our residents as well. We have several RNs and LPNs on staff monitoring and managing our floor staff. We provide an array of training for all new staff prior to them working with our residents when hired. These trainings are Teepa Snow PAC training as well as Brass Ring Certified Dementia Training! We require 2-3 Inservice trainings for our current staff as well per month. All are dementia specific trainings to enhance our staffs knowledge and education to better serve our residents!
Safety and Well-being Measures
We are a secured community for those who like to wander in their surroundings. We offer hourly checks 24/7 on every resident. We have cameras in all common areas that are monitored to ensure our residents are getting the best care possible as well.
Support Services for Transitioning Residents
We have a very thorough ‘pre move in’ meeting with family prior to resident moving in. This allows us to devise an individualized transition plan for the resident. We have several directors and staff that have separate responsibilities throughout the move in process to help the new resident feel welcomed and acclimate as quickly as possible to the new community. Routine and structure are so important so we do our best to get them set up with success as quickly as possible upon move in!
Transportation Services
We offer transportation to doctor appointments Tuesday and Thursdays. We offer transportation free of charge two times a month – within 10 mile radius. Any other transport is charged after the two times a month is utilized.
Dining Experience
We offer ‘Eat Fresh Eat Local’ dining (all cooked from scratch and delivered from local vendors). All dining is in our dining areas in the neighborhoods. We encourage all residents to come out and dine as it is a great opportunity for connection and socialization.
Resident Complaints and Issues
We address it immediately. We are always trying to ensure everyone in our community feels comfortable and able to advocate for themselves.

Communication with Residents' Families
We have several communication options. Some families receive weekly or monthly updates from our Program Director upon request. If there is anything important or urgent, we call families to update. We always welcome families to call in and speak with our clinical team whenever necessary as well.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We are usually at or close to full occupancy so respite is not always an option. If we do offer respite- we require 60 days or more with the goal to become a permanent resident. This is a case by case basis. Cost is the same.
Pet-Friendly Community
We allow pets to come in to visit with pet therapy programs and families bring their pets in (with proof of rabies vaccine). We always have fur friends here!
Vaccinations
We offer yearly vaccinations for both Flu and COVID.
Aging in Place
We are an aging in place community. We do accommodate folks through end of life here at Avita. Currently I do have a small waitlist. This is ever changing as some folks on waitlist want Avita however are not ready just yet. So this changes with every opening that comes up.

Review Summary
The following is an AI generated summary of the reviews of the community from across the web.
Avita has received a mix of reviews from family members of residents and employees. Many praise the facility for its beautiful environment, delicious food, and the wonderful care provided by the staff. Residents are reported to thrive, enjoying a range of activities and receiving personalized attention that meets their needs, including during challenging times like the pandemic.
However, there are serious concerns raised about the management of the facility. Some reviews criticize the upper management for poor treatment of employees, insufficient staffing, and a focus on profit over people. These issues are said to negatively impact the quality of care provided to residents.
Despite these criticisms, many testimonials highlight the compassionate and dedicated nature of the staff, the engaging activities available for residents, and the facility's commitment to creating a welcoming and safe environment for those with Alzheimer's and other dementias. The staff's efforts to keep residents engaged and happy, even during the pandemic, are particularly commended.
Some reviews express gratitude for the care and support provided to their loved ones, noting significant positive changes in their well-being since moving to Avita. The facility is described as clean, friendly, and professional, with a focus on meaningful activities and high-quality care.
However, there are also grievances about the facility's handling of sensitive situations, including the inability of family members to say goodbye to a dying relative due to COVID-19 restrictions and concerns about the treatment of residents' personal belongings.
In summary, while Avita is often praised for its care, environment, and staff, there are significant concerns regarding management practices and the impact on both staff and resident well-being.
