I called three times to schedule an appointment to visit someone. No one would come back to the phone and confirm. I was at work and frustrated as a result. Finally, I just drove out there. Thankfully, I was allowed to go in for a visit. I respect their COVID-19 protocol nonetheless. Also, God speaks of a time when nursing homes will cease to exist. (Isa. 33:24) Please login to JW.ORG to find out more. It's non-political and family friendly.
They temporarily had a COVID ward there. My dad was sent to isolate and for treatment there after contracting it at a different nursing home. They took such amazing care of him. The nurse let me video chat with him during a very scary time. The head nurse of that COVId ward was exceptional, Herard/ Gerald??- a former ICU doctor in his home country but registered nurse in the US. Anyway they got rid of the COVID ward. My dad survived. Their excellent care of him was appreciated. The other nurses are also amazing. There are actually many nurses there that were former doctors. Freddy was wonderful. Everyone was very professional and kept me informed. My dad's PCP is Dr Atigre who is amazing and also medical director at Whispering Oaks. His nurse practitioner, Tess, I must also mention as outstanding..The whole team.at Whispering Oaks gave me peace of mind during a scary time in the world. I would definitely trust then with my loved one again..
I had my father here for short-term rehabilitation care, and the experience was extremely horrendous. The whole building reeks of mold and piss, the air was so difficult to breathe in. The sanitation per individual was alright, as they cleaned my dad every other day, but the general building must have been unsanitary. They cram four people to a room, with all of them sharing only one television. The roommates with better health usually overtake the only television, leaving the other roommates to stare off into space during their entirety of their time awake. The nurses were nice and decent, and would do a great job cleaning the residents and giving them their medicine. However, they aren't careful with their jobs. This resulted in my father having an infection in his feeding tube because they were improperly giving him his medicine through there. Also the nurses take clothes and belongings without permission to wash them, and a few of his clothes ended up missing.Do whatever you must to leave your loved ones elsewhere!
