Employee Reviews for Senior Living Management in Maitland, Florida
2.25 out of 5 stars. Based on 4 reviews
Overall, employees have had negative experiences working for Senior Living Management in the Maitland, FL area. They have reported mold, stained and smelly carpets, no control over the temperature in the apartments, overflowing garbage, and a gym that is just a room full of folding chairs. Upper management has been described as rude and only concerned with money. On the other hand, employees have reported that they like the company because it is not a large corporation, their boss has been there a long time, people seem happy, they get raises for being there a long time, and they get to have fun with the residents. They also appreciate that there are housekeepers and cooks, so they can focus on their job, and that the residents are taken care of.Employee Reviews for Senior Living Management
2.98 out of 5 stars. Based on 65 reviews
Overall, employees have mixed reviews about working for Senior Living Management. Many employees enjoy the enriching experience of working with the residents and appreciate the family-like setting with the employees and employer. However, employees have noted that there is a lack of resources, pay structure is consistently cut, and there is a lack of follow-through with managers. Additionally, some employees have noted that family members are hired to be supervised by their parent and act like bullies to staff, and corporate only cares about money. Advice to management includes valuing their workers, offering better care, food, and activities, and emphasizing collaboration and holding others accountable for maintaining a higher standard.By clicking "Get Exact Costs", you agree to our Partner's Terms of Use. I toured Savannah Grand with my mother and daughter last week, it was very impressive. All of the residents seemed very happy; laughing smiling, socializing with friends. While I was there they had a singer for that days entertainment, and they celebrated the March birthdays with cake and punch and more songs. The place seemed like a wonderful home and I'm thinking about it for my mother. While I was touring I saw the schedule of events for the month, it looks like there are tons of things to do everyday there, from bingo, to trivia, exercise classes, prayer groups and so much more.My favorite thing about Savannah Grand was the court yards, they were so beautiful and peaceful.
We toured the property and many promises were made about up-coming renovations. Both buildings were in poor condition. This company purchased property in November of 2017 and have NOT made any needed repairs. AC was not working, building soffit was not attached (ready for a squirrel/rat infestation). Memory care staff was 30 residents with 2 workers. Building was not up to code. One maintenance employee maintains both buildings. Tiffani (sales and marketing) insisted on a deposit check in order to hold a room, Tiffani guaranteed she would not deposit the check until the 1st of the month. She deposited the check immediately, The Director of Operations insisted we would have to give her a 30 day notice even though we never took residency, PLEASE do not trust one word from sales/marketing or any staff member.
So glad we picked Savannah Grand! The new management team is outstanding! My mom is in the assisted living and my dad is in the memory care. It is so nice that she can go be with him any time but isn't having to do all the care for him. She tells me every day about how much they are both involved in. I love seeing pictures of them on their Facebook page! It is so reassuring to my whole family to know that they are both doing so well there. Thank you for all you do every day!
My father has been here for almost a month. They take great care of him and are on top of whatever is happening. The staff interacts with the residents like they are their own family. Nurse Carol is awesome! She’s easy to talk to you and always available. As to review by JEAN HUBER below. She went to see my dad without permission. She is not a relative. He had just scratched himself and they had just cleaned him up. He had no shoes because his feet were too swollen. He was awaiting transport scheduled to take him to check out what was wrong. As to the residents wandering, yes they do because they are dementia patients and that is what they do!!! The staff has all the residents in one area so they can be monitorred. Their rooms are locked during the day. As to the time it took to get to the door, they were busy taking care of the residents! JEAN HUBER is a meddling pot-stirer that causes trouble wherever she goes!
I was a visitor at this facility . The check in was disorderly. After being told he was not , we found out he was there. Then it was a nightmare getting someone to respond to door. The vulnerable patients are left to wander unattended. The person we visited 3 times once a week has suffered and deteriorated in the 3 short weeks in there care or lack there of it’s shocking.. yesterday on our 3rd visit, we were given the run around. It takes forever for someone to respond at the door. Yesterday the visit found our friend in total distress . Bleeding from wounds to the arms and leg. The patient wandering disoriented without any attendance. If it were not for my friend, the patient would have walked into the walls. An ambulance was called and they just left him. The deterioration in the 3 weeks the patient has been there is beyond belief. He was barefoot as other patients , pee on the floor and no one to care for these people. This facility should be investigated and closed down.
So many great things to say about Savannah Grand and the Cottages memory care!! From the first visit with Stacey, understanding my dad’s needs, Her knowledge in this field really eased our minds when making the decision of which community would benefit dad the most. The memory Cottage has a very homey feeling. The entire medical care team is always interacting with the residents and very hands on. Everyone knows everyone’s names, as well as what they like and so much more about them personally. **this was very important to us that there was stimulation and activity throughout the day and this community does an amazing job!!I could go on believe me! We are so thankful to have found this community for my dad. The team has given us so much peace in knowing my dads being treated like family! Truly Blessed to have Such a Great Team of people there!
My boyfriend's grandmother is at Savannah Grand of Maitland and she loves it there! We visit her as often as we can, and she's always happy. She loves the staff and she says the food great! I was impressed because my grandma is in a different home, and this one is so much nicer.
As a Veteran Nurse and Clinical Educator, Assisted Living Administrator since 1996 and a Certified Dementia Practitioner I have been so impressed with the wonderful caring Staff at Savannah Grand. Promoting and Maintaining a best practice standard here is at the heart of all we do. We look for dedicated, experienced caregivers and we appreciate those who are called to work with us to keep that standard at all times. If you are looking to be a part of a team that really cares for their residents and each other, please come see us soon.
If I could give a 0 I would... Facility is excruciatingly HOT. Residents sit in their diapers for hours! The rooms are disgusting & HOT! Residents are not properly cared for. Somethings need to change asap especially the AC ! So sorry for anyone who has a loved 1 here. No one should have to live this way!
After three and one half years of my Mother being at Savannah Grand I was compelled to move her to another facility 7/2020 due to the lack of AC repair in her room, the food was unsuitable for her vegetarian diet and the communication had become abysmal. Tried to find solutions to no avail. The grounds and the building have been neglected. The amount of Covid doesn't match the reported numbers on the Florida Health department website and my Mother was diagnosed with Covid 1 day after leaving.
This place was a really nice place in 2017. This place has gone downhill since . The residents that come into memory care are not looked after properly. They favor the people in the Alf side and not care about memory care. They never give them snacks or do any activities with them. The nurse central scout is to young to have the DON position. She does not treat employees fair. Hiring all of her friends and getting rid of all the best employees so that she can hire her friends. Everyone that she hires are ghetto just like her.She speak in meetings about gossip! Nothing that is relevant to the job. Kim the administrator is messy just like central and childish. That place has changed since they have come in. They are very unprofessional and I would not recommend anyone move their families there. The Med techs 11-7 bring fans and pillows to sleep thru out the night. That place is not good at all.
