My sister was transferred to Royal Oaks for Hospice care. The staff are so very caring and attentive. This poor girl was on her 4th bout of cancer, her will to live is incredible. We also had Vitas Hospice nurses. The nurses working with Royal Oaks and the Vitsa nurses couldn't do enough for us during our 12 hour vigil. We are so thankful to you'll for what felt like love, the spiritual calming you gave to my entire family. Jamie went to GOD is peacefully. Thank you and God bless

As a local real estate professional, I have had the pleasure of working with Royal Oaks when our clients have moved there from their home. The staff, especially Jennifer Daruty, are most professional,  helpful and caring in this sometimes difficult and emotional transition. The property is safe, secure and  very welcoming, offering several sitting areas for the residents to sit and relax outdoors. Once inside, it is very bright, clean and feels homey! Definitely a place I would choose for my parent when the time is right.

Horrible interaction with Sales person on phone named Mamie.Took several attempts even to get in touch with her to get some general information. Finally when she did get back to me, she was extremely rude and unhelpful on the phone.I was interested in setting up a tour to see the facility as I an looking for a CCRC to relocate my 88 yr old parents from another state to So Cal to be closer to me.They are currently in independent living.Mamie started to question me on the phone and essentially tried to equate my parents current living requirements with that of Assisted Living, simply because of their age.She basically made it sound like I was wasting her time, since I am doing the screening of different facilities for my parents and she was not able to meet them directly and " Royal Oaks does not admit directly to Assisted Living." I was appalled by her attitude.Anyone with that attitude toward potential customers/clientele is certainly not worth meeting or further pursuing. If this Sales person is any reflection of the staff at Royal Iaks, take my advice and STEER CLEAR.  There are lots of other facilities in the area to choose from, whom I'm sure would be full of attention and compassion to their senior residents.

Royal Oaks is beautiful!  Grounds impeccable.  Public rooms decor although attractive, are a bit dated.  Heard this will soon be remedied.  Had occasion to have lunch recently and a decided improvement in food.  Servers are young, well trained.  Royal Oaks has been there a long time and knows how to do it.  Senior living doesn't get much better IMO.

I forgot to mention the Food Service at Royal Oaks.  The staff in the Dining Hall is extremely polite, courteous, and attentive.  I can't emphasize that enough.  Friendly, pleasant wait staff.  I visit on holidays (Easter, Mother's Day, etc.) and partake of their buffet with my mother.  I have to admit that their buffet is not all that great.  I would give it maybe three out of five stars.  There's definitely room for improvement. Or do old people lose their tastebuds?

There's gold in these foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains - senior-living gold! Royal Oaks has a stunning campus of 15+ acres with California Live Oak trees and horses grazing across the road! Beautiful facilities! Friendly and interesting people with whom we've become close in just a couple of years! Caring staff people who have also become friends! Royal Oaks is a neighborhood as neighborhoods were meant to be.

I have been visiting a friend at Royal Oaks Manor for several years, mainly the skilled nursing area. One of the first things I notice when entering the building is that it doesn’t have the ‘smell’ that I’ve encountered in so many facilities like this. It is beautifully appointed, landscaped well and the overall physical aspect of the facility is very pleasant. In the main building there are several sitting areas, one with a piano that anyone can use, and a large dining room. The food and the service at the dining room were just as eating at a nice restaurant. The wait staff are very good at meeting individuals needs- whether food related or physical comfort. My friend needed significant daily help and support by the nursing staff. I found them to be very professional, but also quite kind and caring. When issues would arise, they were generally resolved quite quickly. After years living here, there were some great friendships developed with the staff (myself included!), and even those that had moved on, from the organization, would continue to check in on my friend. There are plenty of activities taking place each day, to participate or not is completely up to the individual, but they will make sure you know about them and encourage you to join. And over this past year of lockdowns, The Manor made every possible effort to make sure residents had opportunities to connect with family and friends. From Video chats to window visits- they became very creative, all the while placing health & safety at the forefront and following state regulations. I know it was challenging- but they definitely went the ‘extra mile’.When the time arises for a family member, or myself, to have additional care, I will seriously consider Royal Oaks Manor at the top of the list.

My husband and I have lived at Royal Oaks for two and a half yeas. When we were researching the senior communities in our area, we had decided on a particular one. Doing due diligence, we made a trip to Royal Oaks and loved it from first sight. We have been thrilled with the fabulous food, wonderful new family of supportive friends and the offerings of any kind of activity one could possibly want. We felt so well cared for during the pandemic and our family is delighted to know that we can have our medical needs all handled right here. Amy Macklin

My name is Jean Voznick. My husband and I moved to Royal Oaks 3 years ago. We found this place to be a perfect place for us. There were so many activities and events in which to participate we found ourselves busy most of the time. The first year was wonderful. My husband had some health issues that got worse and we found that the care in the critical care facility was outstanding. I could walk up to Bradbury Oaks every day to visit him. After 2 years here he passed away. I feel very fortunate to have been in such a caring place with so much support. Royal Oaks has so many wonderful and interesting people here. It is a rich environment in which to be a part. We have a putting contest every week, chair volleyball 3 times each week, bridge, mexican train, twenty one, book clubs, Skip Bo, many field trips and special events. The food here is outstanding with a special chef. I live on the bottom floor with 4 outside patios, lots of flowers and several bird feeders. A perfect place for this bird lover. Come join us!!!!

My uncle and aunt live at this place and the COVID 19 restrictions at this place is ridiculous. The one thing I have learned with COVID 19 is to never live in a government run facility because you will never see your family members.

To the Administrator Meg Pierce and Executive director Sam Oden,I am writing this letter to the public to request both of you to be proactive with the resident care at Royal Oaks. Ever since Royal Oaks of Be group becomes Royal Oaks of HumanGood, the quality of resident care has been surprisingly declined tremendously. The management of Royal Oaks of HumanGood had disappointed residents, families and employees. Families have been paying about at least about $8,000 to $10,000 a month to live in Royal Oaks. However, they have not been receiving the quality of care they deserved due to lack of nursing staffs to provide care. Many other for-profit skilled nursing facilities within San Gabriel Valley area cost less amount to live in and they are able to provide more nursing staffs to feed, change and walk the residents. When you look at the public disclosure Form 990, the facility Royal Oaks and HumanGood in general still have a good profit after Be group become HumanGood. CEO, CFOs, Operation Director, Vice president of some department who have big title all have a super generous increase in their bonus and salary! I am wondering if anyone of you who have connection with the corporate can explain why there’s a short of nursing staffs to take care our loved ones there, while the company has such a strong earning power and increase in salary for the big people? Is HumanGood a really non-profit who truly contribute to the society by providing quality of care to senior?Families and employees hold high expectation for quality of care on Be group. They hold the same high expectation towards HumanGood as well. Have you both who work in the management been delivered your knowledge, skills and experiences to provide better care for the Royal Oaks residents? Do both of you know any residents and know what they need? Can you even recall any resident’s name in your head and say hello or good morning to them? I hope you both can. With a crazy, fast paced, and money driven vibe of society, sometimes people forget to be compassionate even though they are full of knowledge, skills and experiences. People nowadays easily forget to care for the seniors who have built the good solid foundation for their future generation. Honestly, they deserved a better care from us. Ms Pierce and Mr. Oden, I urge both of you to open your eyes and ears to listen and see what the residents need? Do they need a home full of familiar faces they can trust to take care of them or do they need a complete stranger walking into their home who doesn’t care for them waiting 2 hours before diaper change? If you have your grandma or grandpa who require skill nursing facilities service, do you think you both manage well enough to let your beloved grandparents to live in Royal Oaks? We do good things because we can set a role model to our next generation. What goes around comes around. Imagine yourself becomes a senior, how do you want yourself to be treated? What kinds of facility do you want live in? I believe both of you are intelligent enough and do not require nursing home business ethics 101. Please take an ethical, compassionate and appropriate action to provide the best care you can. Thank you very much indeed.

The food used to be good here for the residents but has gone under recent changes because a new company has taken over. Now the food is like school cafeteria food. They have gone so cheap and don' seem to know what they are doing. The residents pay an average of 15k a month to live here and now the food has become so crappy. I feel so sorry for the residents here as the food was so good before and now is so much different. I would not recommend having your loved one move into this community judging how the new ownership is taking care of my family members. Other family's are now complaining about the same treatment.
